Nope. I've got four independent lumber yards in my town where I can get 10' long sheets within a couple of days ... 4x10, 5x10, and even 5x12. Sometimes it can be a bit more spendy, but worth it in the time & effort you save if you splice/scarf.

Couldn't find 10' ply anywhere near South Carolina. I ended up doing a 1" lap splice using 3/4" cabinet grade plywood for the sidewalls on my weekender. Did the splice at the center of the doors to make the smallest area to have to sand smooth. I used PL Premium glue and I think it is as strong in that area as it would have been using solid wood.

We did join ours with biscuits. Didn't have any local sellers of 5 x 10. Wish we would have looked harder. It would have looked a lot better on the woody. Oh well.

We are very happy with the strength and the seam. Just wish it was not broken up by a seam.

Menards is blowing you smoke, Mike! And, they're just too lazy! I've heard of several Lowe's around the country that will special order 4x10 ... it might take a couple of weeks, but they'll get it for you. Most big box stores just don't want to bother with it because it won't be a big-profit item ... that's why I recommend you find an independent lumber yard that is still service-oriented.

Capitol Plywood is the West Coast source for 4x10 & 4x12 plywood (and I think 5x9, which is standard Ping Pong table stock), and I've heard that Roseburg Lumber is also a source (though I've never bought any). I get my 5x10 and 5x12 from Hardwood Specialties here in Redding, CA, but they've been pretty tight-lipped about their source ... ;) ...! There have been several builders in Southern OR and all over NorCal who have driven to Redding to buy the 5x stuff from HS ... but I'm pretty sure a trip out for you from WY is out of the question ... ...!

Good Luck, and as always ...

When I built my weekender I spliced it where the door was. The seam ended up where the side of the door was and you can't even see where the seam is. I did a 2" splice using a thickened West System for glue since I was fiberglassing it anyway. I couldn't agree with Grant enough about the big box stores, it's all about money and if there's none in it for them the customer loses. If you plan it out right as to where the joint is there is nothing wrong with a splice. Larry

I used 4'x10' MDO.

Any real lumber yard can order 10' plywood if they really want to. You can go online an order plywood delivered to your door in lengths up to 32' that are pre-scarfed 8' pieces. Check out places that specialize in selling plywood to boat dealers.

On the east coast Boulter Lumber in Sommerville MA (outside Boston) sells 5x10 sheets of marine Okoume ply, possibly other species as well. They do ship, although I assume that could get pricey quickly...

Mike'

Check with Bloedorn Lumber, should be one or two just down the road and around the corner. I'ffn that doesn't help I know several cabinet makers here that can probably get over-standard sheets.

It's not really that bad, it normally doesn't pay to order (2) sheets but if you have a whole pallet it's not bad. You typically pay the same for a couple of pieces as 20 pieces since it goes by size on the truck rather than weight most times.

I have ordered from Boulter and from Bateua in Florida and I think I paid about $75 shipping for 10 sheets of plywood.

I haul 5x10 plywood from time to time, so it's out there if you want it. :)
