I use an android tablet almost exclusively now myself. Uploading to my album here can be done but is tedious at best. What I do makes the task easier but may or may not be an option. I have my own web space that I FTP upload my pics to, then just link them here easily in the tap-a-talk app. Most isp's will give an amount of website space for free that you can use for storage but its not always an easy setup to get started and will require some learning if you've never used FTP before. Sorry my solution is so involved.

Edit - alternatively, you can try this simple free image sharing site to upload, then just link the address here. http://imgur.com/

Easy test - actually that was so easy that I may start doing this myself lol Imgur gives you multiple options for linking the pic... after uploading, select the text under "message boards" and just paste here.

If you use Tapatalk to access the forum on your tablet, you can upload from your device's memory. I just pulled this pic off my iPod touch's camera roll. Are you really hungry now? ;)

Lol why have I never hit that camera button in tap-a-talk. Does that put your pics right into your album or....? I'm an id10t. Also that was my Dutch oven cinnamon raisin bread.

Their web page is www.tapatalk.com. It's a forum reading and posting app that Mike has set the board to be super friendly with. There are versions for Apple, Android, and Blackberry.

And no, no bacon for you! Unless you come to the island to get it :)

Yep, tablet friendly. Bacon from the Red Barn Market. They have their own smokehouse; yumm!

You can resize your pics before uploading. My best suggestion is to use Google and YouTube as your university to learn the functions of your tablet. There is a wealth of info out there. Its hard to give instruction when we don't know your software versions etc but others that have the same tablet as you will already be posting what you need to know.

Okay guys,

I've just made it easier to upload photos. I've turned on the automatic resizing of photos.

As long as your photo is less than 2.4 megs, you can upload it, and the forum will automatically resize it to 800x600.

Test that and let me know what you think. And while you are testing, the two questions I have are:
1) is 2.4meg too small?
2) is 800x600 too large for the forum?

Just one question, I set the width and the height to 120 and 250, is this correct or can I make the pics bigger?

You can make the pics as big as 800x600, although 640x480 seems to be the preferred size for the forum!

biziedizie, I feel your pain. I got my husband an ASUS Transformer tablet last year; we hate it & it sits unused. Just different enough from a computer that nothing is intuitive and we could not find a good operating manual anywhere, just to get us started -- ironically, you could find instruction books on how to program Android apps by the bushel. The main thing I have heard about an Android table is that an Android-based item is much easier to use if you get a gmail account, so we may suck it up and do that.

However, the next device will certainly be on an apple-based platform (I Pad, I hope).

I have an Android, but I don't do much with it. I read books and pdf's with it. Sometimes I'll get on the web with it. But I don't like coming to the forum on the Android. Cause what'll happen is I need to respond to something, and the on screen keyboard is so slow. I end up jumping up and getting on the real computer to reply to a post. Might as well just use a real computer in the first place.

ditto. however, we did want something nice and lightweight for traveling, but we'll have to work a bit on getting used to it. I think there is an app for converting it to a Kindle, so I'll check that out.

I rarely feel like a crotchety old person, except when dealing with my tablet, when I feel like both.

I can't imagien what your brother was referring to concerning the iPad.

They are more expensive, but the reason I use them both at home and professionally is that they just work. No messing around. Open the app, close the app, turn it off, move on.
The more stuff I take along, the more time I spend taking care of my stuff!
