Dream Camper

I found this picture on the internet. Not sure where... but I thought I'd share it just the same. It's someone's idea of a dream camper! I wonder if this idea could be adapted for a motorcycle camper?

He figures this camper would be about 50 pounds!

It looks like this camper could sit on a 5' long chassis. The door would be about 25 1/2" wide. The trailer body would be about 41" high. Then a 2' drawer for the feet...

What do you think? Something for a motorcyclist?

50# really isn't an unreasonable weight expectation, with the proper materials. My friend John's bicycle teardrop-tent-trailer weighed under 25# with steel spoked wheels and just over 18# with Skyway's composite wheels. BTW ... he managed to salvage one nearly complete prototype from the fire (the tent was toast, of course, as were the Skyway wheels), it's nearly back up and on the road again, and he's moving forward with the project!

I really like the "Dream Camper" ... when things settle down around here, I might just have to take a shot at building one for myself!

I ride a volkswagen trike. I tried pulling a teardrop with it and there's plenty of power. BUT... You can't see behind you. The tear is too tall and the mirrors don't stick out far enough. (Maybe I could pull the backup camera out of the prius)

Nah, I think a popup is a better solution for a motorcycle, you can see over those.



edit: oh never mind, it's only 30 inches wide. probably work fine.

I think one of these mounted on a trailer might be lighter, lower, and roomier. a tent/cot
