Slowed down a bit the last week or so, Got some nice wheels lined up so when i get them on i can think about the fenders. Varnished the bed head, put in a mattress,2 led lights, and they look great at night, and have started on a box for all the odds and ends to fit on the draw bar. The cab. on the back wall is a cd stacker unit that normally stands upright.Has 4 compartments inside so thought it would be a good for nickers and stuff.Still trying to work out what to do with the shelf underneath it. Any way we are getting there, Phil

Hi there Shadow, I have used a product from Insulite ceiling solutions here in oz. They are polystyrene pannels 600 x 600 mm and 10 mm thick . they come in a few different designs and you stick them on with no more gaps. Im sure you guys have a simlar product over there with even more designs than we have here.

Finally got some 2nd hand mags and have started making up the mudguards. Using a plastic 44 gal drum for the mudguard and aluminium for the brackets, so ended up with light but strong guards. Splash some paint on and it will be close to finished.

Hey Brandy. Nice to see an Aussie building a teardrop. I really like your profile and the KISS ideas for camping. The idea is to get away from your normal life for a while.. not bring it all with you!!

One question though. Did you insulate the ceiling and how do you think you will get along without insulated walls?

I'd like to build a teardrop sometime soon and keep switching between nice simple solid walls like yours and sandwich frame walls with foam insulation in them. I'm not sure a sandwich wall would be strong enough for our rough old roads here in Oz and like the idea of good strong box construction but I'm concerned about condensation and heat transfer in the long term. What are your thoughts?

Maybe you could make some fenders with the same profile shape.
