So you carry a gun every day, but for "better reasons than people messing with your stuff".
But other's reasons aren't valid? Wow. That's some democrat logic. Don't do as I do; do as those who know better than you SAY you should do.

No I do not pack a gun but own a 44 cap and ball and can hold a 10" circle at 25 yards. My feeling is that people do way to many stupid things and fear is often the better part of valor. When I mentioned on the IRV2 that some one might want to consider boondocking on Crown Land in Canada one of the replies was "but you can't take a gun hand gun".

Either way. I'm done with this particular conversation.

No I'm not 16, are you?

I'm pointing out my opinions from a country that doesn't carry nor need to carry guns and certain people get hissy about my thoughts on guns.
Like if you need them so bad then have em, I'm just saying that it's pretty sad that you would have to live where you would need to carry one.

Your "opinions" are all too obviously the result of deliberate obtuseness. Welcome to my "ignore" file.

While I'm thinkin of it here are a few holsters I bought.

Desantis nemesis pocket holsters. it works good for the ruger lcp but the kahr kinda prints alittle but it still works ok too.

I also bought a inside the waistband (IWB) holster for my Kahr 9mm but I'm not to happy with it. Very uncomfortable. I'll probably end up buying many holsters to find the right ones.

I also bought 2 swiss army knife pouches and they work perfect as magazine holders

I'm also having a custom made holster for my 22 mag pug and I should be getting it soon.

I don't want to see anymore personal attacks on this thread. Keep the thread on topic and STOP badgering each other.

Why not just delete the thread? It seems that it's one sided anyways and my kid reads it and asks me why guns have anything to do with camping.

There's nothing one sided about this thread, it's open to all opinions including yours. Some of the things you've said and the attitude you presented to fellow members of this forum is where the problem lies.

it seems most people up here in NH are carrying, at least the ones I know, however most do not advertise it, even the anti gun state of MA actually has many people who have gone for the concealed carry permit. In MA the local chief of police gets the say on who gets what initially, which causes the criminals to be the gun owners in the bad areas in most cases.
If you look into most armed citizen vs criminal encounters you will find just showing the weapon is enough to stop the crime until the other guns (police) get there, I believe the NRA says over 75% of the time just the ability to fight back is enough.

I never heard of anything like that. Do they even have to take a conceal carry class?

I kinda agree with deleting the thread. I love a good "tussle" but only when someone might learn something. No one is learning a thing from this thread.

I've never been in a situation where a gun would be needed. I've been in several auto accidents over the years. Perhaps I should sell my cars and walk.

I just don't see the need, unless one is (for one reason or another) deliberately going in harms way, a need to carry a weapon to to about one's ordinary business.

I vote DELETE.

Cheers,

Gus

I will have to disagree.
Deleting a thread throws away all the information and opinions that have been shared.
So many threads get deleted when someone doesn't like the way the discussion is going, or "when they don't get their way".
This has been a reasonably civil discussion, with views presented from opposing sides.
No one will ever "win" but information has been presented and it would be a shame to lose it, no matter ones personal view.

Gus, your stated view is that you don't feel a personal need for a gun.
I respect that view, however, because you don't have a personal need is not a good reason to vote to delete a thread...
There are many threads that I/we feel are useless, but I/we don't all read through them and request that they are all deleted because we don't feel a personal need for them to be on the forum.

If a thread gets out of hand, the administrators, or Mike can lock it, and or delete the offensive posts within the thread, leaving the rest.

I don't feel the need to carry a gun under almost all circumstances. I'm a big man, over 6 feet tall and 300 pounds, and I can bench press more than my body weight. Usually an intense look is all I need to convince anyone that violence is a bad idea.
My wife on the other hand has her CCW permit and is ALWAYS armed in some way, although she prefers her tazer over the S&W model 810 9mm she owns. In our 25 years together some thug has tried to drag her into the bushes on 3 seperate occasions. The first one she drew her weapon and fired at, but she was 22 years old and panicky, so she missed him. He moved right along on getting out of there though. The other two she had her tazer, and fried him a good one, and the police collected the twitching incapicitated attacker.
During our marriage we have also confronted 2 different burglars. I confronted the first one armed with a Marlin model 60 22 cal semi-auto with the 14 shot tubular mag. The second one Laurie confronted with her S&W 810. I have also intervened when a guy was strangling a prostitute to death in front of my house using the 9mm. (Have I mentioned that we live in a BAD neighborhood?)
In a polite society, guns would have little use except for target shooting sports and hunting. Society here is NOT polite. :(
