Deleting a thread throws away all the information and opinions that have been shared.
So many threads get deleted when someone doesn't like the way the discussion is going, or "when they don't get their way".
This has been a reasonably civil discussion, with views presented from opposing sides.
No one will ever "win" but information has been presented and it would be a shame to lose it, no matter ones personal view.
Gus, your stated view is that you don't feel a personal need for a gun.
I respect that view, however, because you don't have a personal need is not a good reason to vote to delete a thread...
There are many threads that I/we feel are useless, but I/we don't all read through them and request that they are all deleted because we don't feel a personal need for them to be on the forum.
If a thread gets out of hand, the administrators, or Mike can lock it, and or delete the offensive posts within the thread, leaving the rest.

I agree with Rob. Censorship because you don't like the postings is not democratic. There are several of us that think this thread is beneficial and educational. If you don't like a particular thread, (there are several I don't like) just don't follow it, simple as that! DO NOT DELETE
