I have a Cabela's shower tent like my old red one I'll bring.
If I can't get the time off, I'll ship it to Slow as a donation to Walk The Winds.
The red one I gave to Planovet because it matched their color scheme, and they aren't being made in red any more.

A trick to smelly vault toilets is to dump some porta poti chemicals into it.

Even though it was close to the end of the camping season, the vault toilets weren't too smelly. I have a hunch that the group site doesn't get used as much as the other camping sites; so, smells dissipate some or else somebody had already dumped chemicals in it. As outhouses go, it was a very comfortable (large) size; clean, and well ventilated. Nobody seemed to mind the lack of showers; although, some walked down to the lake and took a swim.

Note: If the single water spigot is still broken, you may want to fill some empty canisters with water from the other camp site before you get settled.

Mike, if that water spigot is still broken next summer, you could remind the campground staff that it needs fixing. Since your gathering looks like it will become an annual event and brings in considerable rental money to the campgrounds for maintenance, they might become more motivated.

 At 7900 feet it is usualy chilly enough that there aren't many flies buzzing around to tattle if you didn't shower.

Iff'n it gets too bad tho, there is always the GI field shower :o

Actually, the real trick is to put the lid down so the vent can do it's job properly. Walk through a Boy Scout summer camp and you can quiclky determine which troops have this figured out.

Wow!
We sit at 1100 ft on our 70 mile long Okanangan Lake.
And when I was much youger swimming season started on the May long weekend and I have been water skiing as late as Rememberance Day without a wetsuit!
My experience with mountain lakes is that once the ice comes off they warm up very fast....but most of our mountain lakes are very shallow or man made.
When we get there we might have to find some black pipe to heat our camp shower water by day!
We do look forward to coming!

Slow, It is a truly beautiful place. I fought a forest fire in the Wind River mountains between New Fork Lakes and Ft. Washaskie (indian reservation) about 10 years ago.

By just looking at the pictures, I figured this had to be the group site.

The best trick is ALWAYS PUT THE LID DOWN. That way the stink goes up the vent stack instead of into the room.
