Sorry I didn't get any pics of her up and out and on the cradle moved ahead, but if you are interested let me know and I'll take some more tomorow. Vessel weighs about 280 tons and with the cradle its right around 400 tons!

1882, Copenhagen Denmark at a yard named Burmeister&Wain. They still exist but I think are making HUGE diesel engines now.

What are the bits on the front, below the water line, looks like they would catch old fishing nets or cables/ropes in the water?

Those are sacrificial zinc anodes to combat galvanic corrosion. (The hull is iron.) A later addition to help preserve her long term. The trip I documented the other day is the longest she will probably ever make, so lobster traps and other lines getting caught is not really an issue.

Even before I finished your post, Slow, I said to myself "if your model is a 5 masted full rigged ship it must be the Preussen, 'cause there's only been one!" Sank in the English channel, run down by a steamer, who's captain, knowing nothing of the achievements of the last of the great days of sail (my area of interest) underestimated her speed and tried to pass ahead of her. Purely the steamers fault. As late as the 1960's her remains could be seen, I think off the cliffs of Dover but over there somewhere anyway. They were remarkably efficient pieces of engineering!
Joseph Conrad is probably one of the smallest true full rigged ship ever built and now permanently resides at the Mystic Seaport Museum, where I work. Google it, we have a lot of cool stuff.
Maybe I'll update this post from time to time if you guys want to see a coastal slice of life!
