Can Anyone Get Ahold Of Grant Whipp?

Postby sftiggee » Fri Mar 31, 2006 9:02 pm

I'm supposed to be part of the teardrop exhibit at the musuem in Redding this weekend and I'm having SERIOUS electrical issues( no tail lights, no charging, no right turn signal or right brake. only left brake light and left turn signal work).

we are working on this problem now and its been freaking RAINING all day and my tear has some water damage from storage (ARGH!) and i just don't know if we arte going to get this fixed in time for me to be part of the exhibit. (peopel are supposed to be in place by 9:30am tomorrow).

Can someone who has Grant's phone number PLEASE get ahold of him at the musuem and let him know i might not be able to make it?

thank you!!!!!!!

well its a mystery still. the trailer wiring all seems ok, and we are currently tryign to dry out the water damage in the back with charcoal briquettes (they act as a desiccant).

We think it is the car wiring. The car was recently in the shop and one of its many issues was a tail light out (the tail light that the trailer wiring coems from). they did a bunch of rewiring to it, they must have messed smething up. We can't seem to find the problem so I have to take it to a wiring pro tomorrow to see whats the matter.

what a bust this whole weekend turned out to be:( I was able to get my tear from the guy who was storing on friday, only to discover water damage!!! he had taken it out from under the carport where we put it and didnt' even bother to call or email me to say he was noticing anything. the water damage is noticiable. i wont' be storing my trailer with him again.

we'll have everything cleaned up (black mold, etc) and ready to go for shasta, then everyone can tut tut at the damage and at my assumption that the storage guy would leave it protected under the carport.

ugh...

yeah but it's my fault.
Craig and the guys sent out a coupel of upgrades awhile ago that i never got around to do(both involving the hatch) and then i made the wrong assumption that the storage i secured for the winter would be protected from weather, and we've had a VERY rainy season this year.

of course, most of the damage in in the hatch area, on the right hand side. i think i'll have to get one piece replaced entirely.

there is a bit of damage on the corner of one door, but it is only surface, not allt eh way thru the wood, and there is another spot in the front stroage area, again, surface.

the trailer is now safely under a tarp attempting to dry out in my driveway. we were able to squeeze it behidn the gate and down the driveway at the side of my house (there is literally less than an inch total clearance for both sides, this is how narrow my driveway is and my house is on one side, and my neighbor's fence is on the other side.)

i blame myself for this, and next tiem i drive home to MN, i'll be takign it to the shop in WI to get it looked over and fixed up. sigh. i'll have to take pics of the damage when i get the trailer cleaned up and dried off and post them.

Jolene, be sure the tarp is not laying on the tear. If it's not set up like a garage, then lay some 2x4's or 2x6's over the top to get the tarp off the tear. You have to have an air space for everything to breath.

Have a good day.
