Bracing for roof mount A/C?

I'm thinking buying a roof mounted A/C so I can regain the floor space that is currently taken up by my portable. How much bracing is required for a roof mounted A/C? Picture of the inside of my trailer at this link: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=53267&p=973057&hilit=bracing#p973057

that bracing looks adequate. It's all that was in mine when I got it.. And it's all I did, to add another one as well.

That should be fine. If you order them braced for AC they tend to double up the tubing where the AC is going.. I have seen plenty of trailers with just 1" square tubing and roof top ACs though. Stick the AC up there and see if the roof sags much or if you notice a lot of bounce to the ceiling. Worse case you might have to add a little tubing.

Mine didn't have a cutout at all. I just added a full length roof bow and two 14" braces in between it and one of the factory bows. They aren't even welded. I made L shaped brackets out of angle iron and screwed it all together with sheet metal screws. My son and I did pull ups from the opening a few times to make sure it was strong enough. Lol! No problems at all.

How difficult was it to make the cut out? I'm thinking of installing at least one, and possibly two more vents - one forward and one near the back - in addition to the one in the middle which is where the A/C will go.

It wasn't hard at all. I used a jig saw to do mine from the outside. I cut 2 of them. 1 for my ac and 1 for my fantastic fan. Just measure twice.
