The weather has changed and it's really cold here (at home) in the mornings now. I was going to weld but the welding shield is cactused so I went to town tonite and bought a new one. It is so cold here that down south in Victoria, it has been snowing hard. Summer snow is very rare. The cold should have settled the animals down so I am hoping for a great morning of welding tomorrow.
The temperature here is quite tolerable, 90 F but in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, it was the hottest December day for over 11 years, 103 F. It will be a very hot 113 F to 120 F inland tomorrow, this is not good news. At least I can weld in the morning for 2 or 3 hours while the animals thaw out.
All you animals, DIE!! do you hear me? DIE!!! - DIE!!!

well it is still morning here but last night I was working on some of the little decorative features that I want for my little cabin, I did up a utensil caddy that holds Sat&Pepper napkins and has a carved moose head on it still have to do the finishing touches then I'll get some pictures up I also have been working on my table but was getting kinda frustrated with it so I put it on hold and did something else for the day probably get back to work on it today sometime...still waiting for more parts to come in...

Oh not to much just don't want to rush it and have it look awful so I thought best to take my time and do it right

Finished the frame welding on Whetzeldorf #4 yesterday, got the floor on today and the walls glued up to make a 6x8 panel.

Had a super day today. Cindy bought me another kind of insect repellent and after drenching myself with it, the animals have all behaved themselves. They all had a go at some free tucker but they declined in the end. I was able to weld all the cover plate/seals (four of) on to the ends of the A frame draw bar, grind the welds nice and smooth and now I am ready to weld on the spring shackles and the A frame. As soon as that's all completed, we can paint the entire frame with Cold Gal paint and start work on the wood work and make some sawdust. As soon as I have finished welding the frame, I will post some photos of the build for you all to see. It's starting to take shape and it looks great.
     8) 8)

I went to a welder to find out how much it would cost to get a corrective weld I found the right wheel is only running on the inside tread of the tire, so the tire looks new except the inside tread is almost gone. Talked about better suspension for it too. might put in air bags. Thinking of putting stained wood framing on the outside skin make it look more woodie like.

Second build might come soon. My wife said I am not done with the one I have. But I now know what I did wrong in the first one.
Also have a friend looking for a used frame so I can do a new build on top, other wise I will have to figure out how have one built or buy a new one or build my own. I have not welded since college.

Uncovered the Box Kite yesterday and a new neighbor walked by and said cool.

Gorilla Glue is strong stuff as long as you wet both surfaces before you use it. It holds 1/2 my trailer together. We sell FRP at Home Depot and they say you should use FRP Glue with it, but the screws will hold it just fine.
Looks good and clean. you will get good light reflection too.
