Fellow teardropper on tv monday

Postby nevadatear » Tue Dec 04, 2012 9:10 pm

For those of you who know fellow dropper Courtney King from San Francisco, she will be on the next episode of "hoarders" monday on a&e network. Courtney is a professional organizer and was asked to assist on the show when it came to her locale. Courtney is one of the original members of this forum and built her teardrop for her and her husband Roy with just a little help from her dad a number of years ago. They are still active teardroppers on the west coast. Can't wait to see you Courtney!

Honestly, Gage, I don't even know what A&E is, but I'm pretty sure I don't have it. :NC I've never missed having it before.
I have the lowest priced basic cable....what poor retired people are supposed to be able to afford. It gets CBS, ABC, NBC,FOX, a local Public Broadcast channel, an old movie channel and a Hispanic speaking channel and I've found that this is more than I need as I have so much else to do than to sit in front of a tube. It's often simple background noise. For 20 some bucks a month, you don't get much and I'm not into spending a lot unless I'm going to be using it quite a bit; and, therefore, getting a lot out of it. :)

Thanks, guys! :) Hopefully, they won't edit it to make us look too foolish.

I posted in the Jefferson section because those were the folks that caught most of my campfire stories around the shoot, and I didn't want to spam everybody. But here's what I posted:

The show I shot will be on A&E Monday the 10th at 9pm eastern/pacific.

Background:
I'm a professional organizer, and shot an episode of Hoarders back in July. It was bizarre, and I have a ton of stories. We shot for three days, and I have no idea how they edited the footage or how we will come across.

Me writing about the experience: http://www.fullcircleorganizing.com/?p=559

(and while we were shooting, i kept thinking soothing thoughts around camping.) 8)

Sharon, You might look into a good digital antenna. Those are the same stations you will get and they are free.

Hi Courtney... I watched and saw you! Their house was a beauty...I'm going to go on the A&E site to see the deleted scenes. See ya at the next campfire for more "dirt". :D

Hi Sharon, I have a conventional old style TV and when the upgrade came to digital I got a converter box from Radio Shack (coupon at the time) and put up the box and antennae and get what you are currently getting with no monthly fee. Same thing at Dean's firehouse, just a one time investment.

If you watched the show, Courtney was in the yellow T Shirt and was shown doing the yard sale organizing, then a red shirt in the following scene. Not a Hoarder.......she's an organizer.

We do not have cable available unless I cut down a few hundred trees. Then it might work. We get 3 channels plus PBS depending on the weather. I have seen it in the big city when we traveled. I guess we can live with out it.

You all know how to do Google? It's on the internet. Just do a search for A & E. :o

I saw it, using Cortney's (Mercy) Internet address:

Show site: http://www.aetv.com/hoarders/

I hope I never get a "habit" like any of those three people. Wow.....
What a tough project that must have been, going through big messes like that. I noticed that they were wearing face masks at one point.

Courtney, hopefully you'll get a couple cake walk projects to make up for that, maybe some rich dudes who want floor to ceiling closet storage or something like that. ...Of course, it was probably a thrill to be seen on TV and that is a reward, too. Congratulations. ;)

Wow, what a depressing show, I am glad I don't watch it regularly!! Disappointing that we got to see so little of Courtney, I think she would have added some spark to the episode.

Aw, thanks, guys!

It was weird to see 3 days of work condensed down to roughly 20-30 minutes of air time. And yes, they were a particularly tough challenge. Them locking us out wasn't drama, it really was them being surly.

Don't worry, I will have all kinds of dirt for the next campfire. ;)
