New Teardrop Blog

Postby Christina » Tue Dec 18, 2012 11:46 am

I've started a blog for the Sunflower called Tiny Yellow Teardrop. I will cover everything from my own teardrop trailer to teardrop manufacturers, tips, tricks, travels, ideas and questions I receive from anyone interested in teardrops. If there is anything you want me to cover, just let me know!

But how can you beat tnttt for the best resource on the net???? Why whenever someone finds the best they.
Take a proven principle and try to take away, Oh well, copy away.
Ive seen it happen with so many great forums.
Rather then build somthing great to be.something better, they try to take away. Its all already here.... oh well, the net is what it is
Good luck,
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Damn, Chris ... that's kinda harsh ... :( ...!

I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and perhaps you are not completely aware of what a great ambassador of Teardropping & Tiny Trailering that Christina is, but it kind of boils down to this, IMHO ... if you don't have anything nice to say, it might just be the considerate thing to say nothing at all ...

While TNTTT is great. Not everybody like the forum style. It can be a bit unstructured. Different strokes for different folks.

Christine. Your web sight is a nice clean layout. Good luck with it and I hope to camp with you and Harry some time again. Though I do not think I will be able to make that hugh camp out the end of August. I will probably make a smaller one in July in Utah.

From personal experience!
"2. Be ready to brake: Even if your teardrop is really light, don't forget that you have an extra 800 to 1,200 lbs behind you. It will take you longer to come to a full stop and since most teardrops don't require their own braking systems, you and your vehicle are in charge of coming to a complete stop."
It is better to have brakes and not need them than to need them and not have them!

At the top of Tioga pass at 10,000 feet about to head down to Lee Vining The Subaru brakes were smoking when we got down, and the trailer has brakes, the trailer is about 1600#. LG's are not light weights.

Thanks to Grant and everyone else! There is no doubt that the TNTTT is THE best place on the web to get teardrop information, because this is where all the experts are. I don't claim to be an expert, but I have been wanting to write a teardrop blog for a while because of all the questions I get while on the road. Hopefully, it will be helpful for newbies and if they have a question I can't answer, I'll be sending them over here.

This will not take people away from this forum nor do I think it is intended to. It is more like a magazine to inform or report on. It tells stories of what they have seen and if you want them to research something for you they might try. Sometimes the tnttt has to many things going on at once and sometimes you just want to flip the page.

It is a well design forum but very simple as compared to the tnttt. And there are things they will have that people will bring over to the tnttt.
Look at all the pixs that have come from other forums. This forum is a family in one well designed house. But you can't stay in the house you have to go outside and bring in new material.

I am considering starting a new build and to look at how boats are made and planes too I need a lighter but stronger unit and if I could find a site like that on planes or boats it might just help it is a little like a National Geographics not to technical but a nice read.

Thanks Christina for the enjoyable read!
I too frequent the TnTTT as well as the Tear Jerkers sites. (Originally to gather information for my build, but now more for the social aspect of these Forums)
There is something to be said about creating "too many" similar sites pertaining to specific interest groups. Sadly it does tend to spread users a little thin and the sites start to get less and less action, thus losing participants. Vicious circle!
But your Blog seems to be a much different format than a regular Forum and an easy read. Which might make it very appealing to a much different segment of of Teardrop enthusiasts??
I know my wife will probably enjoy your layout and the "short" stories that accompany the pictures, more so than the things I try to show her on the Forum.
But I do hope your initial enthusiasm doesn't fade, and you are able to keep adding interesting things to your Blog in the future.
Wishing you all the Best of Luck with it!
and a Merry Christmas!
Good Roads

I think it is her blog and not for visitors to post but to read like a ..........report on what she experiences

I read some , Thought it was interesting and hopefully newbies will get to find it too, It didn't ans the build questions so much as it gave info on camping. it was good though.

Keep it up !!!
