I was at Home Depot today on a "Honey Do" run and of course anytime I go I have to look for trailer ideas and the kitchen cabinets are on sale, 20% off for in stock cabinets.
My plan was to get custom metal cabinets but I changed my $$mind$$, was going to build them so they were the most efficient use of space possible but after looking over what was available they might work??? Re-thinking the plan a bit now.

New trailer is in the driveway! Haulmark 6x12, 6' interior height, barn doors in back, no side door, pretty much a stripped trailer at this point.

I have to decide on the cabinetry now but can layout on the walls and floor now that it is here.

Before you start on cabinets, floor etc, you want to take the time to take the interior walls down and carefully check the wiring etc. When I purchased my Haulmark last year, I was glad that I did (I was insulating anyway.) You may be surprised how rough the wiring is then take the few hours to inspect and clean the wiring up.

I have the insulation on the way, will be removing the plywood this week to inspect. I agree that the wiring is poor, although my smaller Haulmark has had no issues whatsoever? Still gonna check though.

I can't order any windows until I know what my layout is and don't want to insulate until I know were my windows go, going to make a list this week of what I need to do and schedule of work to complete.

I have a clear vision of what I am doing on everything but the electric, going to make a list of my wants and needs and look to the experts here for some advice.

I have,
Honda EU1000 for 110
2- 12v lights in trailer.

I want,
More lights inside (12v?110?)
A way to run those lights, Battery(12v deep cycle)
A way to charge the battery
A 12v water pump for shower
I guess some 110v to be able to charge a phone/laptop
Maybe a radio, could be 12v or 110
Maybe a tv/dvd, I assume 110 but probably won't have one

Really pretty simple I think, maybe a 30w Inverter/charger, 2 -110 lights, 2 outlets, some 12v led lights and a way to hook the EU into the trailer.

pvangel, Howdy;

Your top link would be your power center.
It act like the go between for both the ac & dc electric systems.
Basicly, it is your 120vac circut breaker box (like in your home)
when you plug into a campgroung's 30 amp 120vac box.
However, it is internaly connected to an inverter that will distribute
your 12 vdc electric to your 12 vdc lights, outlets (think round cigar lighter
lookin' things),etc. It will also do the job of a Battery charger for
your installed battery, if you are planning on one. It will do the heavy
rapid charge, a trickle charge and do maintence charges.

Bought the insulation today(1"Dow HighR), started ordering some parts. Hopefully can start over the holiday week even though I am working every day. Excited to get started!

Finally had some time today to get setup to start work, had to pull the little trailer out,



Loaded up 3 bikes in it so I had some room in the garage,



I started to take the plywood off so I could insulate and run the wiring, when I took off the nose piece you could see a huge gap.







More than disappointed in the quality of the trailer, how can that be acceptable to anyone? I bought Haulmark because I thought it would be of higher quality than some of the trailers I see on Ebay for a lot less $$$. Water would spray directly into the trailer where the hole is.

Sidewall plywood not even screwed in, they stapled the "trim" over it anyway,



Typical wire connection, will have to redo them.

There are holes in the front of the trailer with no screws in them, another place water will get in.



Everything is fixable but very frustrating....

Got most of the plywood off the inside and even test fit some insulation, hopefully the weather holds up and I can continue to get the heavy work done.

For the most part, I believe Haulmark builds a good trailer, but all three of the Haulmark's I have worked on had the same problem in the front...huge gaps between the floor and the front wall. Expandable foam works well in those areas!
