Intro Post

Hello to everyone
Been reading a lot of threads and finally registered. I am posting here first instead of the intro section because I am interested in a cargo conversion rather than a teardrop(not that there is anything wrong with them). I currently own a 6x12 that I used during a house building project, but am considering selling it and buying a new trailer spec'ed the way I want. Of course buying a factory made light weight travel trailer is another option, which leads to my first question.
Did you do a cargo conversion primarily for financial reasons, for satisfaction of a DIY project, for better quality of some other reason? I guess another way of putting it is if cost was not an issue would you still do a conversion.

First things first welcome
My needs are someway to haul two mobility scooters other than in my trucks bed.
I now use ramps to load and unload the scooter or scooters which works fine until
we are stopped between point A and point B to do some sightseeing, like last year
returning from visiting Philadelphia we stopped at Valley Forge I had to use the ramps
to unload and load the scooters. If I had a travel trailer I would had to unhook trailer get
out ramps unload scooters when done get out ramps load scooters hook back up time consuming
and a PITA to do.
If I would have had a cargo trailer open ramp ride out close ramp done easy.
when we were done again lower ramp ride scooters in close ramp done easy peasy.
I have owned several travel trailers over the years to be frank the cost isn't what keeps me
from buying one again I have found that most TOYHAULERS are bigger than I want.
I figure I will spend around $6K on the cargo trailer with the options I've ordered, It will be 7' wide
by either 12 or 14 foot long V-nosed I'll make up my mind in January when I'm at the RNR factory.
as far as being a DIY'er I will get it done like I want it but it will take me twice or three times as others
since I can not stand but for a few minuits at a time.

I still wet behind the ears here as well.
Whole 'nuther point of view from my end.
I live full time in my RV. Need something to get me to a fishin' hole
and a place to stay while there without having to tear this thing loose
from it's roost to do so. You can see my mental wanderings on here as
I haven't yet decieded on what size or shape to settel on yet. Have till
the end of March so I can get it ordered and a down payment made.

We are in need of a toyhauler but three factors keep me from buying one. Price, longevity & size. Just because it says toyhauler on it, the price doubles. Toyhaulers are too big to go where we like. They are still based of of an RV so they do not have a very long lifespan.
I could find a CT/toyhauler on the market that we could be happy with but they still cost way too much. Building my own solves all three issues.
