I have to admit I went to bed around 9:30 local time myself (8:30 for you). My excuse was getting up at 3:00 AM to go to work. One of the dogs started barking at the fireworks at midnight, so I told the wife "Happy new year" and went back to sleep. Then I got up this morning and cleared the snow from my driveway, a couple of my nieghbors and the sidewalk about halfway around the block. Not as cold as your neck of the woods (only 20's here). We will see 40's again by the weekend.

Slo, I have to laugh at this post. You seem to often have insomnia, but on the one night of the year when most people stay up until midnight, you were deep in dreamland! But that is really the best way to start a new year, totally refreshed after a great night's sleep. Somehow I stayed up until 12, but my built in alarm clock woke me at 6:30, wide awake.
Stay warm and be well, and best wishes for the coming new year.
