I'd call it "gamping", Slow. I almost slept in the tear drop in the garage New Year's Eve, but decided my bed in the house was already made and warm.

I don't see anything wrong with gamping.....I think you could set yours up in one of your barns or workshop to escape that Wyoming wind. Then you could feel sort of like you have a longer camping season.

Remember when you were a kid and had that "blanket" fort under a couple chairs and a table? I think the enclosed space of a teardrop is comforting and fun like that blanket fort was. A person really ought to sleep out in the driveway everynow and then to just be a kid again!

We recently gamped in a relatives garage so we would not put them out so much. We brought our own bedroom. It was fun. Their kids even set up and tent and slept on the floor next to us. I think the whole group would have gamped with us if there had been room. All the cool people wanted to hang with the teardropers!

I'm going to glamp to test out the BUB rebuild. I don't have a level driveway, so the garage will have to do.

Once my new Winter Warrior is done I plan on gamping. But since I'm using a forced air furnace, I would have to do it in the driveway. Does that make it damping? Or perhaps in the backyard. Which would be bamping or yamping.

Or I could test the electric mattress warmer without the forced air furnace. So back to gamping.

We could also try a 2 dog night, or 2dnamping!!!

Last year on vacation, we visited my wife's sister. When we were making the arrangements, she mentioned "clearing out the guest room". We told her not to bother on our account, because we could just stay in our trailer. She said, "Are you sure?" Now, her idea of "roughing it" is staying at a motel that doesn't serve breakfast. She had no idea how comfortable our TT is, and after we assured her that we were planning to be on the road living in the camper for two weeks, she agreed not to clear out the guest room for us.

Our TT is too big to fit her garage, so it wasn't exactly gamping. We refer to it as "camp driveway", and it worked out very comfortably for the days we were there.

We spent our first night in our teardrop in the garage. It was a test run...cocktails and a movie on the iPad made for a great night. We were able to confirm we love our teardrop...

When we finish our TD, the first night we use it will be at the other end of our property. This is quite a ways from the house and all the mod cons. Any bathroom visits will be at the nearest tree (our property is almost all eucalypt forest), easy for me, not quite so for Cindy so an emergency bathroom stop means a run to the house in the car. The biggest test will be to see how Kody gets on with all the roos moving around and especially if any dingoes sneak in. She will kick up an awful racket if they do. How she behaves will have a major affect on how and where we camp on our trip throughout Australia. The last thing we need is to be told to clear off because of the noise of our German Shepherd. At least no-one will be sneaking in to steal or destroy without me knowing someone is outside. There is no way we could leave Kody anywhere to board. She would truly freak out at a kennel and would refuse to eat. Even staying at a close friends place would be impossible, regardless of all things, we would miss her so much that any trip away would be totally miserable. Our trip will be, where we are, Kody is. Is she spoilt? Of course not, she is simply looked after the way a princess should be.

We slept in our new TD on New Years Eve IN THE SHOP! As a test run for the rest of 2013, and because it was -5 outside!!
It was Great!
Can't wait for the start of the camping season here in the Northwest.

Almost a year ago we moved from San Diego to Salt Lake City. Two U-hauls, a F-150 truck with stake bed trailer and a SUV. Left San Diego early in the day, and got to the new house about 9 Pm after driving 750 miles. Set up inflatable air beds for my two longtime friends that drove the U-hauls. The wife and I spend the first night in our new home camping in the trailer in the garage with our two dogs keeping us company.
Don't think I will be gamping tonight. It's 6 degrees outside and just below freezing in the garage. First real cold snap for the winter this week.

I have the pointy trailer store set up in the shop. But my shop building is dark and dank--no windows and the lighting is poor. I have no urge to camp in it. I am a spoilsport.

I keep it ready for the night when the smoke alarm battery goes dead and the alarm cheeps. It is on the ceiling where I'll need to borrow a really tall ladder to reach. I know that will happen in the middle of the night, so I have the bed in the trailer ready.

When I had my teardrop outdoors, somtimes I took naps in it. It was easier to fall asleep in during the day than my regular bed. I don't know why...less oxygen? The colors?

We have a TearJerkers Winter BS Session every year at my shop. We pull a few trailers in the shop, there owners sleep in them, some stay outside and we make a weekend out of it.
