We woke up this morning in our teardrop for the first time.

Compass Rose is #2 and there were a lot of changes from MM #1 at this point CR hass about reached perfection (baring unforseen improvements).

CR has bigger sink and sprayer faucet.
MM also had a single door, a pain in the partner in the middle of the night, and harder to make the bed.

Nicer reading lights and all lights started out LED also note hinges on the "headboard" MM had a lift off single board which was a pain having it split and with hinges works much better.
All of the solar is new on CR as is the tongue box. I had a serious case of tongue box envy and no place to put much of the 'stuff' .
I used 4 and 6" pipe to hold sewer hose and tarp poles.
BRAKES, as it was the car brakes were smoking at the Base of Tioga pass coming down.
Slow Cowboy my strong suggestion is to get Angie's input and follow through on what she wants!!!!

The number one thing we did was go from a 4 x 8 to a 5 x 10. Made a huge difference.

What we learned was there are a lot of features shown in various teardrop plans or what other people have designed that we tried to put in number one. It turned out we didn't need to.

For example, in the Bungalette (number 1) we had 4 different lights, turned out we never used two of them, so in the Blue Yonder (number 2) we installed a single overhead light fixture. The fixture has two independent "airplane" style lights, common to RVs. Allows my wife to read, me to sleep!

We also learned storage was key, but the storage not only needs to look good, it needs to be functional, we added a large headboard storage area.

Finally, in the galley, the cabinet doors in number 1 swung out, like they would in a home, this leads to moving items to open the cabinet. So we reduced the doors, and the one we do have is much higher, so items can stay on the galley countertop.

We tried to keep it relatively simple and straight forward this time. Due to work we only get a couple camping trips a year, so we want to get there, set up, and enjoy the outdoors and the people we are camping with.

Good luck with number 2. The Wildgoose is a neat design.

Slow, Why no water tank? I'm about to buy one, but curious if its really necessary?

For my 2 cents,
I would go with something at least 9 feet long. The galley in my 8 footer is just a tad too short.
I would also do something like the crosswing benroy and build storage underneath, 12 or 18 inches of under bed storage would give lots more places to store some long items like my pop up canopy and a portable outhouse. It would also provide a great space to put a water tank that would be well protected if you wanted to take it off road.
With some extra planning you could build you A/C unit into that lower space and still provide plenty of air to keep it operating properly. ( or install a water heater)

mike remember the main goal is to keep Angie Happy!
a well made water tank and pump system makes life easier. We fill the tank from a hose or if not available a five gallon flexible water tank. this sits on top of CR runs through the water filters and into the tank.

My camping experience since age three was in tents, our married life included camping in tents from Death Vally to Lake Superior and I was always mindful of all the time spent in prepping and clean up after meals. With CR it is no more difficult or time consuming than it is at home.
What you are used to is not maybe where you can be in comfort, less time spent in chores means more time doing what you want to do
