I've been gone all weekend, so I missed the excitment... but it's good to see you're all still here!!!

Mike...

Since the early seventies I've had to tolerate " Welcome Back Cotter" so it is a pleasure to have "Welcome Back Paul" when I did'nt actually go anywhere! I do apologise if I created the wrong impression with my original Heading. My intent was never to leave it was just to point some of you to an area where you could witness us on home territory. Cheers to all of you and a BIG Thank You for caring. :shake hands:
Cheers
Paul

Early Demise

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon Apr 03, 2006 6:29 pm

Paul,

Glad you didn't leave cuz I spent the weekend brushing up on my Aussie. It's amazing how easily it can come to you once you have the linguistic decoder ring to figure it all out. I've listened over the years to the various accents that come from Australia and decided it's much like the states. Regional differences/dialects exist, but it is still the same language overall. Also, I was a fan of Robert Scorpio from the Soap Opera General Hospital and I cheered when Mick joined the TV series "JAG" (as that brought another interesting aspect to the shows with the hunks from down under).

Hi TDN, So does practising Aussie make you bilingual? :) As for the hunks from downunder, thank you! By the way, I was never going anywhere. I guess the way I posted showed the differences in the way we classify our humour. If you have'nt noticed, not one of the other Aussies has replied to this thread, strange is'nt it?
Cheers

On purpose

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon Apr 03, 2006 7:04 pm

Ah Paul,

The Aussie Nomad, he did that on purpose. :o Does the rest of the phrase go......

so now you can lie in it? See how quickly I can pick it up?

I guess I am probably trilingual now !! Does sign language count too??
Then I could be quadlingual! I love hearing the English language with different accents, especially when it comes from down under.

 Hey thanks Paul,
Wasn't me, think was Tear drop Nanny. But only cause She beat me to it. Ouch. Just kidding. Wonder if I can stay awake longing enough to get my cuputer to behave and get there.

Did I do that right?
