Making a HB trailer into a 5x8

Has anyone on here taken a HB trailer (4x8) and widened it into a 5x8. Looking for any and all ideas. Thanks Patrick

The cost of widening the 4x8 trailer kit would probably be more money and trouble than spending a few more dollars and just starting with the Northern Tool 5x8 kit.

But you can build 5 feet wide on the 4x8 trailer kit. Just need to build out over the wheels. Check out the Convertible #2 Build link in my signature.

I cut and widened my axle and built a carriage for it. Took about a day to do, plus about $60 worth of steel

I am modifying an old sailboat trailer that I already have. I was going to build it 4 feet but I read on the poll survey most people want it wider. Thanks for the help.
