HELP! Sink drain part search

Postby jgalt » Mon Apr 03, 2006 4:30 pm

I need a new part for my small 'bar' type sink drain - it's the plastic part (looks like a funnel) that connects the drain base to the drain line (broke mine).

These parts typically goe to a 1-1/4" ID drain line. However in my case, I need to go to a 1/2" line (with a barb connection).

I have the small 'bar' type sync BTW.

Any idea where can I find these? I've checked with the local plumbing suppliers and RV parts houses, no luck!

Very close - If I could find just the tailpiece part with a 1/2" barb.

This might be a solution if I can't find the exact fit (i.e., heat the 1/2" hose).

Thanks!

Would this be closer to what you need? Unfortunately it doesn't give the size of the barbed hose fitting.

Found this at West Marine under the plumbing stuff...
Reality? What a concept!

DestinDave - thanks, but those appear to fit a specific sink if I understand correctly from the West Marine website.

goldcoop - Thanks for that link, I finally gave up my search of everything RV and marine and ordered 2 or these. Worst case, I can simply replace both strainers and force the 1/2" tubing over the 5/8" barb (the heat gun should help this along).

Plumbing work is bad enough - it the BREAKING stuff and LOSING PARTS that I really dislike!

Jgalt-

Your welcome!

If I remember correctly, depending on the tubing, the size correlation between tubing & barb fitting are not the same?!

Soooo maybe you'll get lucky -or- maybe even replace the tubing too?

I used a heat gun to soften the tube & shoved it over the barb while still hot, worked great!

Cheers,

Coop
