Congratulations on getting your CT!! Now the fun begins. Take your time, plan it out and most of all, HAVE FUN! IMHO: Painters tape will help with laying out your floorplan before you build. I found this to be one of the best pieces of advise I got here. Sure helps to see how much floor space something actually does take up. You can draw all day long but seeing it like that sure made a difference for me. Good luck and please keep us posted with pictures. It helps us see options and someone might actually pay tribute to you by incorporating your ideas in their build. (fancy talk for stealing your ideas)

Welcome.
yes, get a good pencil, if you are like me, I sketched everything 10 times before I started.
We also started out wanting a true dual purpose trailer. We wanted to camp and bring the motorcycle, or the kayaks and still have a trailer to haul other things.
My trailer is going to be a mobile dressing room for my nieces outdoor wedding next summer. I just bought a generator so I can run the A/C

Be sure to post a lot of pictures, so we can follow along.

My brother also has a KLR. it's his first real bike. he rides it eveywhere.

Just returned from my first trip with the cargo trailer. Had a few minutes after unloading to get some initial pictures of the untouched CT.

The UPS truck dropped off a few items for my trailer build.

First box contained my removable front wheel chock for my KLR650. Went with a removable one to allow for use of the space when the bike is not in the trailer.



Next few boxes contained parts to my radio system. I went with Fusion since they are marine rated. The radio has full iPod control and also has weatherband stations for weather reports/alerts. The iPod dock is water resistant and secures you iPod or iPhone but allows for easy removal when not in use. This system is a dual zone rated radio which allows for separate control of the radio in two area. I got the wired remote which will be mounted with my TV in the concession door/window along with speakers. This allows for use of the radio/iPod outside the trailer without having to go inside.



Still waiting on my interior lights, power cord, and power outlet. Then a trip to the local home improvement center for some electrical and insulation items. Should be building in the very near future

Have been in the process of collecting the electrical items needed to do the wiring on the trailer. Just about have it all - so will soon begin opening the walls. Got a chance to get some work done this afternoon. Opened up the rear ramp and insulated with three layers of R-Max 1/2" insulation. After looking at the pricing on 3/4" regular sheet insulation the R-Max came out cheaper even with three layers. Taped up the seams and placed some 2x6 backing to support the rear spare tire mount I will be adding later this month. Waiting on my exterior lights to arrive so I can cut all my holes at once while the sealant tube will be open. Got everything closed back up and drilled holes in the spare tire mounting bracket. Then a little sanding and several coats of new paint.
