I remember that winter also. I was a student at the U of I in Moscow ( Moscow Idaho that is ) But that cold spell happened during winter break and I was in Southern Idaho. But there was plenty of damage done. There was a church steeple that fell over. The cold broke one side of the support.

It's not bad here, 40 degrees and sunny. Dipping down to freezing at night.

I just got back from another afternoon skiing. I am feeling a leetle bit sunburned. Temps were at least 50 up there. Spring skiing in January, it don't get much better.

I was driving a manure truck today. The high was 18f And the stupid truck broke down. Took about an hour to figure out what was wrong and get going again.

Been a long time since I sorted spuds in a spud cellar. Those where the days. Glad they are over. One of my earliest memories was getting my feet stuck in the mud next to a spud sorter and dad pulling me out.

We had freezing rain today,,,,made it to work with no problems and the roads were ok coming home, but the road down to the apartment was glare ice....I'm on a slight downward hill with a slight upward driveway to the garage...made it halfway up to the driveway and parked the truck...not going anywhere till it eithers snows or melts. There was a van in the fence at the bottom of the road with a small car crashed into it. Will have to spread out the three 60# bags of sand in the bed just to make it up the drive into the garage tomorrow. Been trying to screw in wood screws in the soles of my boots just to keep from breakin my neck on the sidewalk,,,,,hopefully will find some ice melt tomorrow or saturday...thank the lord for spam......Roll on springtime.....

Went down to Mukilteo Landing for these shots today. Only two miles down the hill from me.
In summer the place is packed with people so I wait for bad weather to go.

Snow is melting a bit, Well, turning to slushies. light rain off and on. Will get colder in a few days
