Looking at the last sketch on graph paper, I figure your bed will be 74"?
I think 78" 's the optimum lenght for a comforable teardrop.
Thus, I would make it 100" rather than 96" ( buy 10' sheets of plywood for the sides)
And use 0.125 wall 2or 0.188 wall 2"x3" tubeing for the chassis. (0.250 wall is overkill)
Just my 2 cents worth.
Very cool design!
I llove the doors and hinges.

I was trying to stay within the sizes of common plywood sheets, 4' x 8' and 5' x 5'. It was an exploration. In the long run I figure FRP/foam/FRP SIP panels is the way to go for construction. I can get thin FRP sheets that are 100" x 40' x 0.055" Hum.. .. ..

Anyways, I'm again thinking mostly about larger hard sided pop-up designs, and sculptures.

I like it :)

How about making it a clam-shell to get your head height? You could hinge it front or rear because you have done away with the kitchen. Do you think you may need a more substantial chassis if you are going to put 31's on it? You would have a lot of trail capability and I would hate to be tempted to go beyond it's abilities.

BTW I think that same way about a kitvhen. A lot of people forget that they have a tow vehicle with a lot space already available. It also means you can set camp and go exploring and still your food, fridge and cooking stuff with you.
