Help identify coleman cooler year please!

my sister got this at a yard sale for ten bucks and she gave it to me. score me! I was wondering if anyone could help identify the year of the cooler

I can't help you with the date on this one. But I do collect and restore old coleman lanterns and stoves. The guys on the forum at Oldcolemanparts.com could definitely help you date it.

BTW- GREAT score. I would LOVE to find one of those. Especially for 10 clams!

There is usually a date code stamped onto everything Coleman made. Is there a date code stamped on the bottom of this cooler?

That's a nice one, even has the paperwork and bottle opener. Is it a Coleman bottle opener? Mine came with a "Quick & Easy" that was identical to the Coleman marked opener. Those are not date stamped, but from what I can tell collecting ads, they were made from 1955 to 1959 or so. In 1960 they modified it some and changed the color.

I was about to venture 1958 -59. The can piercer was a little bit of a give away as the original rip it off and throw it anywhere pop top came on the scene in 1962 eliminating the need for the piercer.
