BTW...IMO the v-nose is possibly overrated in regards to real world fuel economy

Ditto. In the real world a round nose has a better drag coefficiency than a V. The V just looks cooler.

I agree! While mine is ferrous mostly I wouldn't have any real worries about wood structure. I built a wood/epoxy boat several years ago and it is holding up fine. Wood will last forever if you keep it dry. After all, the tree took a hell of a lot longer to grow than any cargo trailer will last... And the tree is made of...... Wait for it....wood.
