Very interesting....except the price

Yes...definitely one to shop the used market..but people generally really like theirs so they can be tough to find used...

We have two of the 12x12 Regency EZ ups that have straight legs. Very easy to bind together. We found out they were being phased out so we found them at Rural King for 119.00 each with free shipping. Glad we got them. Easy to put up or take down.

I always liked the two sizes of Coleman Event shelters. They are unavailable in the US now but are very popular in the UK. I do not know why they have been discontinued in the US. It is a very good design. I own the larger of the two, the 15ft. I have 4 side walls and one has a door in it. You can attach the side walls as needed for wind or rain protection. I use an SUV tent by Sportz over the hatch in the rear and with Mexican blanket carpeting, table, chairs, and Coleman Cat's Eye heater it allows me to extend my comfortable camping season into the early spring and late fall. The event shelter is huge and with the groundsheet it really makes a great area to enjoy out of the sun, wind, or rain. After some practice I have learned to put it together in about 15 minutes alone. I sometimes when camping among trees, use tarps with ropes and tensioners to make even more shade. It is fun to see what one can do with them. You do need long lengths of rope to be effective. I have even used the same tarps set-up vertically in the trees as wind breaks..be creative! There are a couple more pictures of the event shelter in my gallery.

I got the Coleman Event 15 and three Sun Walls shortly before they ran out of stock.
I hear there is a zippered door available in Europe. I'll have to look into it.

I'm using the Coleman Event Canopy and have no complaints. I, also, got the walls.

that is another good reason for being a teardropper at gatherings. if you can't put your ez-up up by yourself, others will help you or do it for you! when my hubby doesn't go with me, at least one of the tearjerkers will help me. gotta love them. and they help take them down also.

Three people helped me with my Paha Que the first time I put it up.
IndyCamper always knows she will get help with her tents and her scooter.
As Louella says, there is always someone to help.
Mary, I've gotten used to the orange. I really wanted a blue one, but there's not a variety of colors made. They do seem to change colors with each new model.

We found a single 10X10 Ez-up filled all our needs. Pull it over the galley to where it just clears the hatch and you are in business. Very easy to set up. With a folding six foot table on the outside end you have a very convenient place for all your food, drinks, and galley work. BTW - for two people to move the thing after it is set up, it helps to put Ziploc plastic storage containers under the feet to act as slides. Work well on pavement or dirt. Don't forget to tie down the Ez-up. We used stakes on the outer end and ropes tied to the trailer frame over the TD due to pavement in that area.

My wife and I picked up a couple of 10x10 Coleman brand canopies yesterday at Target on clearance for $42.00 each. I've had one in the past that served us well until an unexpected thunderstorm blew it off of our back deck and into the woods :o . There were 3 of them, should have bought them all. I'm going to go back tomorrow and see if the other one is still there. If it is I'm going to buy it and donate it to my grandsons Boy Scout troop.

Yes wind can really blow em away. I went to one of those craft fairs out in TX and got caught in a heavy wind/ Rain storm and This one lady had an ez-up and it was weighted down and the wind lifted it up into the air, she had 20 pounds on every leg. The wind just caught it and away it went out into the field behind the parking . The one beside it was staked down with 20 inch steaks with a twist and heavy rope it didn't move. I plan to get four really long and good steaks. well that too, stakes. I am not always going to have people around to help get the easy up so I am going to use my sons next month and just work on it here in the yard Hopefully I can figure out a way to get it up. It is a matter of learning how I have to do it. I broke my wrist last mothers day and had surgery so gotta just work on the problem.

I am reviving this thread because I am considering getting the Paha Que' XLT- The one with the 2 sides that can be used as a wall or canopy.

Image

it's pretty expensive so I just wanted to get some more feedback from anyone who has one. My wife was concerned about how waterproof it is and how many staked ropes it needs to stand up. Do you need all those ropes in calm weather Can the main portion be staked at the bottom of the poles? She's a bit clumsy around those ropes.

Bill, I have yet to use the ropes with my orange 12x12 (knock on wood, of course  ). It's been calm each time I've used it. I just put a Coleman 6" stake through each foot. I do have plenty of stakes for the ropes, just haven't had enough wind to use it. Ask me in about 6 weeks.

I took a bunch of older pool noodles, cut a slit down one side, and then cut them in about 8" long pieces. I will put these on the guy ropes when I do use the ropes because I tend to be such a klutz. Hopefully it will be a way to keep me out of the ER

I found that an inexpensive "Quick Shade" ez up with slanted legs works jus fine fer me. Only takes a couple a minutes to set up or take down by myself. I put it over the teardrop and still have 3 ft over the passenger door if the weather gits bad.. I cook beside the trailer...
