Not quite. The mat the OP mentioned is fine and is used in many home/ industrial applications and in many CT / Toy Hauler applications. It does not expand/contract as you think.
There is another type of
interlocking mat but is made from foam. I used a similar type/brand in my CT conversion as it was much cheaper (< $50.00) then the above type of mat. This mat does expand but with proper fit and a few dabs of silicone underneath each piece, negates any expansion waving/heaving of the mat on the floor in temps as high as 100 F.
