JR was in rare form. Not looking forward to a few weeks from now.

Yes I agree. JR's acting and role has much improved with this new season, he would have been a great asset to the series. And Sue Ellen is looking good too. I hope they keep Cliff Barnes off the show as much as possible, I can't stand him.

She looks great for somebody in her 70s

My only real complaint about the show is that it seems to be moving too quickly. Seems like any story line they begin is over either by the end of the episode or by the end of the next. They seem to be missing the point of a soap opera at times.

really? i love that it moves fast and some issues are resolved in one shows time. but generally the main plot takes a little bit longer. i am loving the way they are moving.
well that is my opinion anyway.

has it been 8 days yet! :x

The main plot at this point is pretty much just John Ross trying to become his dad. That's more character development than a story line.

Pretty much everything else is happening within one to two episodes.

The timing of the show feels more like the Mentalist with his ongoing Red John quest and weekly set it up and take it down sleuthing than it does Dallas.

They talked about that with Cidre toward the end of last season. She maintained that it was intentional as she believes that it is necessary to keep the attention of the audience. Perhaps. People aren't exactly known for their long attention spans these days (not that I'm one to talk, normally).

Still, it would be nice to let some things develop. Look at the story line with Sue Ellen running for governor. They brought it up in the premier last season and it barely came up again until it was jeopardized with her bribing the coroner. A situation that resolved itself in a little more than one episode. Then, it wasn't brought up again until the premier this season when the coroner pops up again, which is resolved by the end of the same episode.

It's almost like they are simply writing things for the originals to do as filler.

Could be.

I like the story lines that build over time. I remember the story lines involving JR would take months to resolve themselves out. Sometimes the whole season. The way they're writing this, if they had been doing the original show we would have had the battle between Bobby and JR over Jock's will resolved in a couple of weeks.

I suppose they're doing that to an extent with John Ross and Christopher, but everything else seems to be over as quickly as it's introduced. They really need to give Sue Ellen a meatier story line once JR is gone.

Have you considered downloading the episodes from another source, like usenet or torrents?

So long as you are not downloading DVD rips (which are obviously not out yet), you are simply downloading something that already aired.

Although, if you don't have cable/satellite/FioS/etc., you might still be in the gray area of legality so you may want to read up on that.

Wouldn't want to imply you should do something illegal otherwise.

nope, must have a paid service provider. i tried. i got rid of the paid service, couldn't see spending that much on the tv. all my other shows i have been able to catch on the computer the next day, so its not been a problem. dallas is the only one that won't let me watch, even after the 8 day thing. might have to cave in and get dish back.

How would TNT's website know if you are a cable subscriber or not? Not sure I understand that.

Yeah, after I wrote that I went to the website and web site and saw what you mean.

Ummm.... I am NOT giving them my user name and password to my provider. It's a breach of security beyond belief that they'd even ask.

Anyway, not sure what to tell you other than have somebody record it for you.

Otherwise, I think you can watch them on iTunes but you'd have to pay something like $3 each.

Sweet.

I haven't seen last night's yet. Not sure whether there are any more with Hagmen in them or not. The only thing I know for sure is that Ep 8 is the memorial.
