I have a home build 1940's something built with surplus aircraft aluminum. She is not pretty by any means she is adorable and full of character.
I tried to polish her but gave up. She sat in the open the last 25 years and has held up fine. During the repair period, I took her down to the shell and put her all back together with a new axle with brakes, new fenders to accommodate the new width of the axle, and finished the interior to my liking. She is not finished yet and honestly don't know if she ever will be. Some of the original rivits were gone, mostly in places that were hidden, and I just used pop rivits with a little roofing silicone to plug the hole in the pop rivits. I patched some holes with old coins, it just adds to the character! I have added aluminum marine cleats to tie off the eazy up,dog's and other stuff to. I covered the hinge with some fire hose and aluminum flat stock.
Make your's your own and enjoy her.

Nrody, I like it, interesting design, and lots of character. Ours too has its own character points, one of them being the aluminum fenders dented and repaired cracks. We could have bought new fiberglass replacements but wanted to keep the originals. Polishing is time consuming, and there is no end to it with aluminum. You have a unique trailer there.
