Got a little more done the last few nights. Permanently mounted the sides, did some rug work and the biggest improvement was making the Skirts. I think they really improved the looks.



Also started mapping out the rear. The opening on the right will be the door and the one on the left is for the roll out Galley.



Hope to have most of the carpentry work done by the end of the weekend.

You insulated the floor, right? Did you or are you planning on insulating the dropped floor area?

Thanks for the Kind words Jon.

Insulating the drop floor was a bit of a challenge as space and stability was a concern..Took me an entire 6-Pac to figure it out.

I used a 5/8" foam rug pad under the rug, on all sides to do so, but yes, though not as good as the sides and roof...it is insulated.

Shoe Storage, under the roll out Galley...Inside! And with the dropped floor a Place to sit and put them on!!!!

I know you posted a picture of what your TD will look like and them there was a almost finished Benroy and
now back to your original design. I’m so confused.

Not really your mates most like coming over to a nice shop for building classes.


PS. Nice now we have an answer to the age old questions. Where do you put your shoes then you take them
off before crawling into bed. Most TD users never think of this until there first night in the tear and they are
holding their shoes in their hands with a confused look on their faces going Hummmm...

That was one of my "Bare Bones" trailers I built a few years ago. I've built several

It was an idea I came up with years ago for a 4X4X8' Teardrop.

I would build a box (The teardrop) the customer would buy a Tractor Supply #100215 Frame,they would get it titled, then they would drive the trailer frame to me and I would bolt the box on to there frame and they would drive away.

Saved them LOTS of Money Not having me mess with titles.

Installed the front 2 ceiling/rafter panels, did a lot of "Rug" work and trimmed the dropped floor area.



Ordered the AC...you would be surprised at how difficult it is to find an AC in February!

Wiring and insulation Saturday and then close it up on Sunday. That should be it for all the real Dirty Work in the shop.

Never got to my Wiring today, instead I messed around with the rear configuration.

I did finish all the ceiling panels.



The AC will go into the upper left hole and the roll out Galley will sit below it. I mapped out the Galley and with a Pull out shelf/table will be APX 22"X47".

Almost the size of a conventional Tear.

Inside Galley/AC Cabinet.

I decided not to put a back on the Galley slot (I can always add one)...Because, If while camping..and the Galley is out, that would be a good place to put a Gym Bag or extra bedding temporarily as opposed to just sitting it on the bed..



I'll take a shot at the wiring and sheathing the roof tomorrow.

Well I put off the wiring and roof sheathing another day.

Don't know why I keep avoiding it, I enjoy doing it????? I guess I'm "Doggin it" till the AC comes in.

But I built and installed the 2 overhead side cabinets. Lots of in and out of the trailer and boy are my legs/knees feeling it.



I'm using Trim-Lock on the edges of the cabinet openings (photo #2)....just used a piece of scrap from my last build to see how it works.

Tomorrow, the wiring, insulation and sheathing......then on to Aluminum siding.
