oh gosh mary, i completely forgot to measure. i promise if you remind me tomorrow, i will go out and do it. again i am so sorry.

now what lip are you talking about that i mentioned? i have a lip around the frame on my second trailer. is that the lip that i am referring to? i can't remember mentioning a lip on my first one. my second trailer is a carry on, with the wood floors, which has a lip all the way around the frame.

Just like to mention for those that would like to decorate their Foamies (etc.) with something more Artistic... There’s a simple visual tutorial of how to paint a simple Large scene... and it may apply to most any subject matter or graphic designs ... A “method” , one of many ..

Any questions ?

Gpw, thank you I am going to try that sometime. I learn with pictures best , Now if I could draw my TD I would have it in the bank but since I cant I will just do my best and post pictures when I start my build. your art is wonderful. I also like the foamie fishing boat.

Mary , drawing a TD is easy .... starts with a box... then you Round the edges like you want .... ;) Lots of paper and a big eraser helps ...

Of course. :D When planning an all over design, much like your test foamie model, how do you judge the corner wraps? I really like the mural effect of having the entire foamie a picture. Also, do you choose your primer color based on the base coat? I can see colors and effects really well with cloth, but paint seems to stump me. Thank you for posting the pictures, btw. That's exactly what I needed.

Bonnie , It’s pretty easy to tint your primer to something close to your base color , that way if it gets chipped ( :frightened: ) it won’t show white underneath ... We found over the years that a gray primer is good for more subtle color “schemes” (decor) , and for more “Colorful” designs , white primer underneath really brings out the surface color brilliance ... 8)

Painting around corners  ... what I do is continue the “Horizon line “ on the same level all around ... Easy to establish , just measure up from the bottom of the cabin at a few points , draw a level line all around ... that way your design/scene /mural will visually “wrap” and "read” better all around the vehicle ... 73426

GPW, I keep looking at the mural on your model and just shake my head in amazement. If I had that kind of talent there would definitely be a mural on mine. I'm thinking that a mural also could hide a number of surface flaws. The kind that only a inspection from a foot and a half reveals but nonetheless, drives me crazy :? :? Yup, I know that's compulsive behavior but after 56 years on this planet, I don't see it getting better... in fact my kids think it's getting worse!  8) 8)

Regarding Foamie decorating ... We Foamlings' , are faced with literally a "blank Canvas” at the end of the build ... and the decoration is like the icing on the cup cake ... Makes it “pretty” ... and yes , the more “complicated” designs/ murals/etc. do HIDE a lot of little sins’ ... the decoration becoming the main focus of the viewer, not the construction ... An “artistic distraction"... ;) Just a few well placed stripes can make a plain Foamie Very attractive ... as seen above ^ on Mel’s Foamie ... 8)

I wish!!! This Russian incident underscores we need or eggs in more than one basket. Hopefully we'll have a very good space capability before the next big one and we can mine it out of existence before it hits.
