Here, make your own

Peltier chips

And if you can't find something else on that sight that you covet then you are dead.

Randy

Probably get some cheaper on Amazon. Now if you can get a voltage supply to give 16v at high amps you would be in fat city

Nancy was a bit pissed off when I bought our Waeco refrigerator (ebay at less than half price), but on our month long trip last summer she came to appreciate not having to find ice and for food not spoiling...
We have however used a succession of ice chests with varying digress of success, One "shoot out" http://www.campinglife.com/camping-gear ... -shootout/

One suggestion to improve insulation is the use of bubble foil insulation to improve the situation. This is with our refrigerator but the principle is the same.

Good idea Shadowcatcher. We were going to have to leave our Frigid Rigid behind because it was too large for the teardrop, but now that we have a truck we'll be able to throw it in the bed. That will leave it exposed to the sun and I would imagine that this type of blanket over it would help a lot.

I see camp inn is now producing cooler covers. Pricy at $70, but looks well made and usefully for thosevthat don't sew or want to bubblewrap and duct tape.

Becky, our refrigerator sits in the back of the Subaru when we are traveling. I did a test of the bubble/foil insulation with a toaster oven and achieved a 25% decrees in heat transmission with one layer and a 50% with two layer. This is apart from solar gain that I would get in the back of the Subaru beating on a gray plastic cover. I wanted to leave the foil as the top layer to reflect sun.
