Well took the trailer over 60mi of mixed offroading from washboard to technical trails did pretty well! Needs some weight!

Any thoughts on your lock n roll hitch?

Soo far i really like the lock n roll. I have the newer version suppose to be stronger.

Alright started on the floor system this weekend. Picked up a pocket hole drill pretty cool.

Got the 1x4 system built

Splined the 1/2" ply to make it 52"x108" screwed and glued the crap out of it.

Just weighing it down, have the insulation standing by and the top sheet ply for the interior floor.

Finished the floor took sometime for the glue to dry and the multiple layers for sealer and tar to dry.



So the sides and bottom got layers of sealer and then several coats of roof tar. I left the interior floor unpainted going to put a linoleum floor down. I work the next 48hrs on thursday or friday i will slap it down and bolt it too the frame. Friday i get paid soo i am going to head down and buy the 3/4 baltic birch for the sides. So maybe sunday i will have the walls mocked up

I would really think twice about Baltic birch. From the stuff I used I regretted buying after I started cutting it I would use marine ply only the Baltic doesn't stay together to well. But that was the stuff fr menards

Im looking at shop grade baltic birch suppose to be heavy duty? Problem with living in vegas is a crappy selection of wood. Its sad when homedepot is basically the only option.

I had mine shipped in. Yeah, it cost me, but I'm "all in". Too much time and other money at risk not to use the best materials.

In Vegas it is mostly dry weather, yes? So you might be able to justify the lower cost by the reduced risk of water issues. Back east here that is just not an option in my mind.

I should say that all of mine is on the interior. I know mike one of the board owners used it and said it delaminated within a couple years. I would ask him about it. If you have any Second thoughts about it

Interesting, ill have to call and check around for marine ply. Yeah we basically 10-18% humidity all tear round plus its going to be garage kept. I noticied homedepot had maple any thoughts on that? Obviously i want to only do it once!

I'll say this I was fore warned about using only marine ply due to no voids in its construction and a water/ boil proof glue. And another note if your going to insulate the walls I wouldn't use 3/4" ply because the wall thickness you'll have a hard time with trim etc. that's what I'm finding out. But this is my first build also and I'm learning a lot as I go. And seeing why some do as they do. But ur build is great so far I hate to see you learn the hard way as I have.

My plan was to use 3/4" ply and then 1x4" on its side with insulation and then 1/8th ply on the inside.

Well good news, 84 lumber here is the only place in vegas that carries marine grade ply. Bad part $70 for a 4x8' and I need to make 2 4x9' lol. Good thing Im working overtime tomorrow. I plan on skinning everything in aluminum. Do you guys still suggest the marine grade or maple? you guys already scaried me away from BB lol
