Were Flooding!!

Postby Bigwoods » Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:44 pm

That time of the year. Snow is melting quickly, and with the bigger cites having new levees since the big '97 flood, we are getting more water. We have several sump pumps going and I think our house will be ok. May not get to work. Had to drive through 8" deep flood water for 3/4 mile. It was moving quick and about as deep as the car wanted to be in. Thinking we will be fine this time, but I know of two houses that are toast.
One person is missing, presumable lost in flood water.

I'll keep my head up as my Dad would say.

Try and keep dry, Northern Calf. Is also getting a bit on the damp side… :crying2:

Many miles and many tears. Times were hard but now they're changing.
You should know that I'm not afraid.

The Division 1 Frozen Four Final hockey tournament starts tomorrow. The Fighting Sioux meet Boston College. If we win we'll play Wisconsin or Maine for the Championship. Good reason to stay home from work.. Shall I fight the flood or watch hockey?

Greg
Sounds like you got a good reason to stay home and watch tv. Wouldn't want you to wash away.

Hope all stays dry.

Juneaudave,

Grew up in ND...awhile back. I watch the Devil's Lake delima with professional interest though...I build highways and most of the embankments for roads around Devil's Lake are pretty much dams now. Can't drain it, don't really want to PO the Canadians, can't stop the rain, what's a fella to do?
