How easy is the Durabak floor to clean?
I need to finish the floor in my 6x12 as we load dirt bikes in it. They drip oil, gas, mud and dirt. I've read that some guys have trouble cleaning these textured floors. I need something light and slip resistant and I prefer a lighter color so you can see in there.

FYI: I have had oil & gas on my Rustoleum Epoxy Paint. It cleaned up easy. I used electric part cleaner spray after I got it wiped up to remove any residue left. No problems at all.
Dadgum it! I cut that board 5 times and it's still too short!

Earnest, you mentioned that you added the anti-slip stuff to your epoxy. You did light on the floor and heavier on the ramp. How much is light? Is that like sand or more like rubbery pieces? How is it to walk on with barefeet?

The other question I had is if the epoxy you used was 1 or 2 part? Thanks!

Howdy All;

The Industrial rubber mats I linked are a neopreane foam.
Very dense. Oil and grease (petroleium products) are
not to good for them. They do clean-up nicely with Dawn
and warm water. If you were to swing by a car wash
you could spray them off when you have the bikes out
for their bath.

Since mine is on my boat floor, I just spray it down at the car wash. That works for mud, dirt, fish slime, blood, spilled sodas, dropped lunches, etc. I don't get any oil or gas spillage. A stiff brush would scrub in between the textures should you not wish or be able to use high pressure.

This is what I used to add texture to it. I mixed about half of it in for the floor and added most of the rest for the ramp. It's not bad on barefeet that I can tell. It made it where it is not slick. The ramp is pretty course. I can tell where the bike has set from traveling but the epoxy is not damaged. It went on a little thick since it was wood instead of concrete. One gallon is supposed to cover 250 sf, it took the whole gallon to do the floor on my 16x7 CT. Durabak says theirs cover 50-60 sf. I chose one gallon for $70 rather than $240 for 2 gallons.

I wish I could afford the durabak, it is a good product. We have painted the interior of Landcruisers and jeeps with it and really like it. It not only looks good, but its tough and durable. All in all, I like my Rustoleum Epoxy Paint. Dollar for dollar I think I came out ahead.

Thank you for the details. There are so many types of floor finishes out there and many of them don't have great reviews. It is nice to know which ones have worked well for a CT.
