I currently have about $2500.00 in the Command Post, including the tools I have had to buy. I really don't have an overall budget. It all boils down to what I have to spend this week. I try to get enough stuff to keep me busy for a weekend or two when I have money to throw at it. When I have enough material to keep moving, but there is budget available, I sock it away for the more expensive bits. right now I am working on body filler. That's going to keep me busy a while as I use filler to cover many carpentry sins

Mine cost $1700 in 2006.
Ran it without fenders for years, then one of the law guys suggested that his law required fenders. He said that a mud flap would be legal, so I borrowed a design idea from a mid 30s Bonneville race car and came up with half a fender.
Seems to work.

Gage,
Beautiful teardrop! How did you make your awning? My husband and I were talking about making one for ours. I like how you roll up the side.

I'm afraid to add up the actual dollars i spent on my build. I really don't think it matters. One thing for sure, it's paid for.

If I consider the enjoyment I gained from the build and the value I get from the camping experience that brings me closer to friends and family, I am way ahead in the money department. I couldn't begin to think of how much savings I get from not having to pay a shrink. This is my therapy.

Not adding up the cost.

I spend what I need to on the things I need and want.

That said I picked up a second hand caravan for £100, which donated the chasiss and the kitchen sink/hob unit. Also acquired a lcd TV for £20 and the youngest daughter got a portable DVD player for her birthday a couple of years ago, so thats the entertainment sorted.
Boys never grow in to men the toys just get more expensive and more dangerous

How true :)

Never add it up!, lol the golden rule

Seriously though, aluminium aside its the little things that end up costing the most.

Glue/Fittings/Special Hinges etc.
