We've got 5 trips planed so far...

1) Silver Falls
2) Deschutes
3) LaPage
4) LaPine
5) Memaloose

I'm sure there will be a couple more in the mix but there not booked yet...

Hi Debbie and Randy. Thank you for your welcome to the site! I'm an ICU nurse in Truckee at Tahoe Forest Hosp. Also work one day a week at Truckee Surgery Center. Also in I.T. building the flowcharts for our EMR system. Also work one day a week doing CMS audits for the feds....my fingers are in a lot of pies! We'll have to meet up!
Our plans for the summer include a few weekend test trips to work the bugs out of the Clam shell trailer. Then we're taking the last two weeks of Sept and the first two weeks of Oct and taking a Fall Colors Trip on the motorcycle, towing the tent trailer. Leave Reno, head to Seattle, Wa, up to Vancouver Canada, across to Calgary, Then down to North Dakota, east to Minnesoda and Wiscon, back into Canada via Ottawa, down to Tenn, across to Colorado, then Home to Reno. 7500 miles or so. Visit family along the way. I hope our butts can handle it! That should be a adequate test for the tent trailer. :?

Wow! Nice trip.
We are half way between Vancouver and Calgary in the heart of the Okanagan Valley (Wine Country) and it will be wine season here.
As for some great fall colors.... one of the "Best Bike Rides" in the Pacific norhtwest is just south of us. So depending on how you are coming to Seattle from Reno you could figure that into your travel plans. Look up the Cascade Loop??????
Lets's talk......and there is free camping waiting for you here at the farm!
Sandi & I would love to have you visit for a fire and and a glass of wine! :wine:

The Benroy building has been going slow for now. We will have the little Guy (rental) out in two weeks to some great fishing and camping at Lake Conroe here in Texas. Can't wait until we can camp in our own TD!!

I'll look into the cascade loop! Thanks, we're looking for advice/information on those kinds of side trips. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this fall and make a motorcycle trip possible. Otherwise... Plan B, Head south to the beach!

I do like the Green River Lakes area. I did some exploring in the area back in 2010. I want to spend some time camping back there. I believe there is blacktop for a ways, but there is a widening in the road and after that it is gravel, Maybe 18 miles of gravel. It is a nice wide road, and was in good shape when I was there in early October 2010. A standard clearance car wouldn't have had any issues on the road, but may have had some issues if it tried to pull off in some spots. There was some washboard, but it wasn't bad. GPS Coordinates of CG: 43.313126,-109.86086 Google Maps URL: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=43.313126,-109.86086&num=1&t=h&z=16 URL for what I think is the gravel section: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Green+River+Lakes+Rd&daddr=Unknown+road&hl=en&sll=43.221131,-110.008051&sspn=0.001718,0.002908&geocode=FQyBkwId12hx-Q%3BFeXilAIdJa9z-Q&t=h&mra=ls&z=12

It could be a possibility for future years. Also a day trip can be mounted to scope out the area. When I drove through there, it was while I was staying in Jackson. I had a much longer drive to get to the start of the road than you guys would have from the other camp grounds. I also drove through the area to the north east and came out over by Dubois. Despite it being hunting season when I was there, I did see allot of wildlife.
