Is a pop-up considered a tiny travel trailer?

I used to have one as well. It does become a hassle to set it all up...then if it rains...you get to set it up at home again to dry it all out before folding it up. Doug

Becky, I agree with Carl and Doug. If I had a choice between a tent and a pop-up, I'd choose the tent every time. I watched my sister push that canvas into the track on both of her pop-ups and I knew these arthritic hands would not do well at that chore. The few times I camped with her in the pop-ups were not fun. Trapped in a pop-up in 8" of rain in 24 hrs was so miserable. And, having to set up the pop-up in her driveway for 24 hrs to dry it out wasn't fun either(when she got it home). At least I feel safer in a teardrop in a thunderstorm. So, I guess I would class a pop-up as....not my favorite!!!

Slow's personal definition of an RV is not what the DMV, at least in CA uses.

i wanted to reply to his post, but thought it through. decided its best i dont. states to state is not the same. since when did dmv care about furnace, stoves, propane n such. wouldnt that be insurance companies. <shakes head> i gotta stop coming to this site,lol. its getting to be to much.

Well, every site has it's experts, self proclaimed experts, boobs and those who are completely FOS.
I have been each one, at one time or another. I find it best to service my brain-to-mouth filter often. Should it become clogged, the results can be disastrous.
As the old saying goes, "It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool that to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

I was thinking we should have a winter get together at cajun ladys in florida I'm sure she wouldn't mind if about 50 of her closes friends

OP did ask if a pop-up would be considered a TTT I have owned 2 TTT scamps, I have owned 2 pop-ups coleman
I prefer the scamp for comfort I like the pop-ups for ease of towing but like others have mentioned a rainy canvas means you
will need to open and dry it once home a TD just put it away.

weather here in Ohio was 43 and felt like 70 since it has been in the 20's.
again don't go away we are all friends and we can differ on subjects but we are all friends.

I started to reply but thought better of it. Anybody with a lick of sense would check in their own state anyway. (It's the indoor-plumbed toilet that makes it an RV in CA.) There! I said it for you.

Oh, Dang! I said I'd thought better of it. I guess the temptation was too great.

PS. I walk inside the trailer and dry my pop-down hard sides with a towel.

Believe it or not, Slow, some of us love ya just the way you are!

I'm assuming, by "Pop-Up", you mean a tent-trailer with
a hard roof. To me that is a tent trailer. A perfectly
fine unit, but I'd not consider it a TTT. In my view a TT/TTT
is an all hard sided unit, even if it folds up [More common
elsewhere than here.]. The distinguishing thing being hard-
sided and no canvas. Now, as an exception, hybrids of TT/TTTs
could use some canvas, but the ratio of that to hard side would
be small - I'm thinking here of those that have some sort of lifting
roof with canvas used for the gap between it and the unit's roof/walls.

It's more of a "fold up". I can't afford a Casita, yet. I will when I can't put this up anymore, or get tired of it. Until then, whether a TT or TTT or TTTTTTTT, I'll use it. I guess I can still come onto this site? Please?
Oh, and a Scamp doesn't have the clearance I want. And I'm bad at making things...I have a hard time finishing complicated projects.

I do sleep better in this because The Used Dog is not poking me in the back with his dog elbows. Dog elbows are sharp!

Guess it’s in our nature to want to categorize most Everything , but if you just consider the name .. Tiny Travel Trailer ... that takes in most everything that’s small, and has wheels , that you travel with .... So in answer to the original question .... YES !!! JMHO!!!

My son was given one one time and was trying to put it up (the cable was broken) and during the placement of the long 2x4s he was using to get it up a big gust of wind blew and one of the 2x4's fell and BANG!!!! down it went, I had just taken my hand off the edge where the top came down. I will never own one, never sleep in one or have anything to do with one. My son took it back to the owner.

I am glad I didn't loose fingers either. so is it a tiny travel trailer? pulled behind vehicle, it travels......Now tiny is relative, It is not as big as a big RV. it is made to camp in and it is similar to a tent , but mostly I would ask if the owner feels like it is a tiny travel trailer. Like I said I would not exclude one based on semantics and after all, we do this to camp that is the reason to build, so the camping includes socialization so......... if it is a ttt to you it is acceptable to me, I have to go reading about builds cant find what kind of bolts and which ones to replace on my hf trailer and I gotta look for .........................what was it ? Oh my crs again.........
