Doubt my tear will be completed before the end of summer, but there's always hope. Nonetheless, I'll be heading back up to northern Wisconsin in May with a side trip to the U.P. of Michigan.

Door County is close enough to take a quick trip, and that is always on our radar. I'd love to get up there for the cherry blossoms sometime.

I'd also love to get back to Glacier, as my trip last summer was too short. No matter what, the teardrop build needs to be done before the summer of 2014, as I plan on taking an extensive trip out west.

I plan on making it up to Lake in the Clouds this fall to try and capture this shot in peak season. I was a little late on this one.

Since we've gotten roughly 20 inches of snow in the past 5 days.
I would like to be somewhere a little bit warmer then 35 degrees.

Why wait till summer? We have spent one weekend in January at Catalina Campground by Tucson. We just did a great four day event in and around the Kofa wildlife refuge, though that trip was not teardrop suitable. And now a trip to central AZ for the Spring Clean event. After that a long weekend over easter camping at Burro Creek, half way between Phoenix and Kingman.

After all that, there is a 4 wheel drive jamboree in Kingman and then the Rt 66 Fun Run and then off to Flagstaff for the Overland Offroad Expo. Then another 4 wheel drive trip on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in July and then off to a recumbent bicycle gathering in Oregon in August. We try and keep somewhat busy. I can't wait till I get to retire so we can get out and travel more!

Been there, done that.
I lived in an area similar to where you are. Four seasons with lots of sagebrush. I am enjoying the warmer weather and little or no snow.

I can't wait to get mine built for the summer. I'm dying to find places with a real VISTA to view from the campsite. The only one I know for sure that offers this now is Queen Wilhemina Park on the talimena highway which goes from Talihina Oklahoma to Mena Arkansas. My car club drives this every year, and I'm itching to camp here. They're remodeling the the lodge right now but the website says the campsites are still available.

Can't find any pics exactly from the campsites but you can see it on google maps here. http://goo.gl/maps/z6xts

Here's the kind of vista you should see from the campsites. http://goo.gl/maps/mtPYf

and http://4fraziers.com/wp/wp-content/uplo ... AG0178.jpg

If anybody know of any campsites with a similar view in Colorado, I'd sure like to hear about it!

In mid-summer my wife and I love going to New Germany State Park out in the Western tip of Maryland. It's up in the Mountains about 2500' elevation and a nice break from the 100 degree weather in DC.

Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is one option. Spot the woman for scale ...

And this Smith River flows through Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. A fork of the Smith River about 2 miles from the campground near the bridge to cross over and backtrack to Stout Grove.

Bahia Honda in the Florida Keys is one of my favorite places to go. I do a lot of diving and its a great home base to go anytime of the year. Great shore fishing and a nice flats area where you can just sit in the water and chill-out. Place hasn't changed much over the years and gets past by mostly because people are heading to Key West...which in my opinion has lost its luster since it got all commercialized. :(
