I thought I'd work on the doors today...

So I grabbed my windows and other hardware, and a piece of scrap... and mocked up a door.



Uh, that doesn't look right. The window got pushed forward because of the door latch, and it got pushed down because of the top hinge.

I think we're gonna need different windows... Lets's see...

What if we made them 12x18? I know Grant has some of those... Lets see how that might look...

But we'll have to work on those doors another weekend...

I worked on the drawers yesterday AND today. What a lot of work. I can't remember them being THAT much work. And I didn't even use dovetails.

But the drawers make the space much more usable and accessible. I'm glad I went this route!

Mike I have been kinda following along with out saying anything
I will restate what I have said before I am amazed how great everone does when building their own trailers,
just when I thought "they can't improve on that" someone, like you does.
for what it's worth Scamp trailers spray epoxy on their floors they have a big spray booth they just spray resin all over the floor nice and water tight.
When I built my all fiberglass airplane, a Burt Rutan designed VariEze when laying the fiberglass onto the foam we used 1" brushes and "stippled" the resin onto the 'glass.
since we were building an airplane we wanted to keep it as light as possible once the 'glass is wetted anymore resin added to the 'glass only adds weight not strength so we used squggies to remove the excess resin.
I like the way you solve problems on your great looking trailer, this window doesn't look right lets try another, the lines don't look right lets cut off 6"
the back wall is to narrow lets build it wider.
you make me tired just reading about the things you do and redo reminds me of that other Mike, Mike Holmes "make-it-right".

Okay, so winter is almost over... 3 weeks until spring!!! I figured I'd better get off my duff and start moving again.

Today's project was to get the 2nd door started. Can you believe it took all day just to frame out this silly door?

FWIW, I did use biscuits through and through!!!



But any sawdust is better than no sawdust at all!

Summer is finally here again!

Got the doors done, and got the outside skin on.

I put putty in all the holes, and this morning I am going to start sanding...

The plan is to be able to start putting fiberglass on the roof this afternoon.

Do you need a special primer to go over the fiberglass resin before you can paint?

I use the Pre-Kote primer that is recommended for use with the Interlux Brightsides paint. However, I just read a post by Doug Hodder (I think) that said it is not necessary. I trust his knowledge. I'm almost anal about following directions though, so if the paint can says I need to prime, I prime.
