Dexter side mount picture

Postby spbiknut » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:29 pm

Does anyone have any pictures of a Dexter axle with side mount brackets and how it looks attached to the frame...having trouble wrapping my head around it without seeing it.

Thanks,

Dear Troy,
I am about ready to hang the axle on my third trailer, so if you want, I'll send you some pictures in the next week.
Doesn't mean they'll be right of course
I can try to post it here, or you can email me at [email protected] and I can send it right to ya.

That would be great! If you post it here it might help someone else. Thanks in advance and good luck with your build.

Danny,

Thanks for the picture. I 'get' it now. With wording like 'side mount' i was thinking that it mounted to the side of the frame and their pictures on their site aren't too revealing.

ATOMAKER, please still post your pictures as well.

Thanks again,

Troy, I'm thinking side mount refers to the two bolts on the side of the part that is welded to the axle at the factory.
There's about 3/4" in the elongated slot for some vertical adjustment if needed.
My last axle came with some grade 8 bolts for I'm assuming bolting to the chassis vs welding.
