this doesn't look like camping weather!

Postby pete42 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:22 am

This is what I awoke too yesterday march 6 2013
I spent the day plowing snow, taken people to the store or picking up perscripitions.
once out of my drive the roads were passable not great but usable.
on my third drive I snapped the lift cable on the snow plow lucky for me I was near
my home couple cable clamps and I was able to finish plowing.
spring is coming.............

Well spring is officially coming 18 inches of the last 22 have melted. It's snowing now, but melting as it hits the ground. The spring time sun angle is here :) Now if only tonight when it's colder we don't wake up to another 4 to 8 inches. :worship:

If March came in like a lion, hopefully it will go out like a lamb. :worship:

We had a nice rain storm here this week, complete with thunder, lightening, wind, and hail; but we needed the rain. Now, it's sunny again and going to be a beautiful weekend in the upper 60's and lower 70's.

when I was stationed in Long Beach California I ask where are the storm drains I was told it never rains in southern california
and they arn't needed
I believed them until my cousins front yard in San Clemente slid down the hill.

weather is turning sunny and temps in the 50's today and over the weekend
snow be gone! be gone I say.......

When I first moved to SO.CA, I didn't have a raincoat or an umbrella. Local people thought I was nuts.
By December, I had purchased an umbrella, though. Ah, youth....

Slow the last few years we've had a bit of wind too. We also camp in ME a lot. Camping in the 40's in the summer makes me think that winter camping is too cold. New England has had some wild weather the last few years, so summer camping is definitely our preference. The sunset picture in the profile photo was at the campsite we had in ME last summer. I have those amazing sunsets burned in my mind.

I choose to forget the part where we were wind blasted so bad that the PahaQue tent frame bent and trashed it on our first trip with our new teardrop... :(
