I have a T@B trailer, currently on Ebay. Hope that it sells by this weekend... (Someone is coming over today to look at it!)
Anyways, the T@B is one of the most comfortable tiny trailers I've ever been in. I like the ability to stand and change clothes, and I like the ability to cook inside in bad weather. It's on of my favorite trailers.
That said, it's quite a bit more expensive than a teardrop, and it's quite a bit heavier too. You can't tow it with a small car (which is all we have now).
Would I build a T@B from scratch, you betchcha... but only if I had a truck to pull it with. The factory build T@B's are lighter because the roof is a laminated foam SIP type construction. Same with the walls. Once you start building out of wood, the T@B clone is going to be very heavy... Well over 2000# I am guessing...
Here's the tab profile, which I was considering to build a Tidget. Andrew has the plans for that one somewhere...
And here is a tab clone I found on ebay...
BTW, if you like the tidget, you might like the Widget... It's similar to the TAB but it has a dropped floor, lowering the overall height by about 6".
Mike...
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...
