That's an excellent description of things to do and see. You forgot Devil's tower. There are a couple of hikes you can do around the tower. The short path is paved and stays close by. If you have binoculars, you can see rock climbers climbing up and the remnants of a ladder that was constructed up the side of the tower by the first man to climb to the top. Buffalo is also a nice town to visit. I'm not sure, but the drugstore down town may still have the old school soda fountain in operation( It's been at least 20 years since the last time I had a soda there). The public swimming pool there is(was) also free. The water is piped in from a mountain stream (super cold). That may have changed too. The last time I went through (about 5 years ago) the cheapest gas of my trip was in Gillette.

Real nice travelog, Slow. There in just now way to see and do all that Wyoming has to offer in one little summer. I don't think you mentioned Cody with the Buffalo Bill Historical Center or Flaming Gorge. Neither are to be missed.

One place that is OK to miss is Wamsutter. My wife and I spent a lifetime there one blazing hot windy afternoon. Felt like a convection oven.

Slow is right!
Wyoming is one of my favorite States. We travelled thru twice last year!
We may not go thru on our way south this summer as it is a little to far east for our planned route.....but we will be going to Walk in the Winds in August! :applause: so we will get to see more of Wyoming than we saw last year!

We saw everything you have listed in Wyoming Slow and even more. We would have loved to have stayed there but were unable. I loved Wyoming and Montana, they reminded me so much of my own land, Australia. We don't have the high cloud piercing mountains like you have but we do have some wonderful snow country that takes your breath away and fully captures your heart. I wish so much that you could see the country we enjoy and love so dearly down here. We even have feral deer here that can be seen in the forests and the high country. We don't have bears or wolves but instead have dingoes, wombats and roos. The roos will kick you to death if cornered and then the dingoes will eat what left of you, dead or alive. The wombats simply trample all over you and bite.

While Rock Springs is not that interesting, but Firehole Canyon camp ground just south of there is really worth a look. It is about 30 miles south of Rock Springs in the Ashley forest .

Devils Tower is very cool also. We only made a stop there for a couple hours but I am glad we did.

Nice write up Slow, you are a good Ambassador for Wyoming! :applause:
