pvangel, Howdy;

Just took a stroll down memory lane with this thread.
I noticed that in your garage you have some of the modular (?),
wall stuff. The horizontal slats so you can hang stuff where
ever you want. Do you have any idea of the load they can bear?
Had a thought about using that stuff so's I could mount stuff.

Well Hank, that's a funny story....

It is called slat wall and is made out of plastic and very strong if installed correctly, mine is not.

So I have been in the construction industry for 30+ years now and started as a carpenter in my teens and have framed houses from RI to Wyoming and built roads throughout the northeast and am currently a consultant project manager on a 9 mil dollar home in Westchester County NY. I got the material for free from a client and had one of the carpentry contractors that work for me install it because I was busy, well if your going to side a house you start at the bottom and work your way up, sheetrock the same thing so I told the carpenters to snap a level line at the bottom and put it up....WRONG.... this material is installed from the top down so to make a long story short....it is installed upside down in my garage and nothing can be hung from it because the tabs go the wrong way...at least it was in my garage and not a clients. It looks good though!

I just moved the bikes back in tonight!

The devil is in the details...

Gotta have a headboard but on a folding bed?

Image

I can't weld aluminum so rivets it is, (I can weld aluminum but don't have a TIG anymore and really rivets work great!)

Pillow won't fall of that end now.

Solid but removable,

And in it's storage place at the end of the counter, thats the water line to the shower.

And the broom/umbrella holder next to the tiedown holder.

effort. :twisted:

Hank, I would say that it would work great! Specially if its not installed upside down :x

WHEEWWW....big relief.

Even though I measured 100 times and mocked up with 2 bikes I haven't been able to check to see if 4 bikes would fit, and......they do!

3 fit with ease but 4 works ok.

Finally hooked it up and pulled it out of it's winter parking spot!

pvangel, Howdy;

Lookin' GOOOOOD!

Is the table/bench on the outside also the inside one ???
I'm thinking it is as I don't see any way to secure it for travel.

Thanks Hank! Table mounts on grommets that are on the inside and out, pops off in seconds and you can move it. I intend to use it for a grill stand /kitchen on the outside.

Anybody find an affordable roll out awning? I see them for $4-500.00 for a 12' one, seems like a lot?

Any ideas?

Hi,
I am starting a conversion on a 6X12 trailer. Mine has the metal studs every 16". Do you attach the insulation board somehow or does it just sit in there? Thanks for posting all your work and details. I am gonna steal your bed idea too! :)

Sorry...
One more question... where did you order the flooring?

A bag awning for a pop-up is probably your best option for that trailer. They are easy to put up and take down with a little practice. It is what I went with on my build because I wanted to be able to open my door back all the way if needed and wouldn't be able to with a regular RV awning. Mine came from here http://www.rvworkshop.com/index.php/pro ... rkShop-844

The insulation is just pressure fit, I thought I would have had to glue it but cut it close and push it in and it stays great! I love the beds! cheap, takes up 3-1/2" when folded up and are comfortable when down. They are about $100.00 a piece is my guess.
