Chumpy Teardrop Builder

Postby Vanq » Mon Aug 22, 2011 4:24 pm

Hey All,

I've joined the forum to drag you all along on my adventure to build accommodation for me and my wife for the 2011 Chumpionchip!

http://www.chumpcar.com/event_pdfs/Nati ... 20Info.pdf

For those who don't know chump car is endurance racing for $500 beaters, and in keeping with the spirit of the event I've also set a $500 budget for my trailer. You'll also note the event date is September 2nd- its a 16 hour drive for me so I'll be leaving on September 1st.

So to recap- 10 days to build a teardrop for me and my wife, $500 budget and a 2000 mile shakedown trip... sounds like fun dosen't it?

So what kind of a guy would take on such a challenge?

I consider myself to be an excellent racer, strong mechanic, pretty good fabricator (solid with a welder), and a barely adequate woodworker.
Hopefully this along with whatever help you all are willing to offer will be enough to see me through this build.

Look for a project log starting tonight!

It looks "entertaining" ;)
As long as you build basic, I don't see why you could not slap something together in a couple of days. take pictures.
