@sir tom of the a&m... ha! yeah, i tend to overkill sometimes... just trying not to do that as far as weight is concerned :?

and here's what i got done since last post...

not glued yet...
Image

nor is this...
Image

we're camping saturday nite, but the girly girl is gonna help put a smack-down on the glue-down either tonite or sunday when we get back.

dun!
Image

and started messing with this stuff last nite...
Image

honestly, after reading so much stuff on here i was a bit apprehensive about jumping into the epoxy stuff... worried i would screw something up. i've used the little 2 part epoxy syringe thingys from the box stores before to glue random small crap together but due to t&ttt information overload i thought this was gonna be difficult...

annnnd... IT'S NOT. it's simple. the aeromarine 300/21 that i bought has pumps that precisely add 1oz per pump... so it's 2 squirts from the 300 bottle & 1 from the 21, mix with a stick & apply... a little while later it's plastic.

made me think of this...

hope everybody's having a good friday, friday...

partyin, partyin, yeah!

Beautiful fall picture of the trees, Kent. Thanks for sharing. :applause:

It depends on the product, whether the moths are attracted or not. I found it was best to do that sort of work in the daylight. But, I know that's not always possible. The nasty part about moths is that they do a mean break dance, when their legs get stuck, and leave a gray dust there.

@david... yep, we took a ghost tour of the crescent hotel. it kinda seemed more like theatrics than anything else, but since we were there halloween weekend it was pretty neat. i love that town

@sharon... i've just been touching up the grey dust spots. but since they're all on top it's above view anyway... well mine at least cuz i is being shawt! :D

got some more stuff done... primer, paint, more epoxy, most electrical, vent, front window...

no screws thru wires! YAY!

so anyway, i still have A LOT of little things to do but my goal is to knock those out this week & have it campable by this saturday. there's a 40% chance of rain so i wanna test it out in a few showers to see if there are any leakity leaks in a state park that's like 15 minutes away... plus it's supposed to be highs/ lows in the 60's/ 50's which is pretty weird for st louis in mid november so i figure we might as well take advantage of it...

hope all's well with everyone & thanks for stopping by

p.s. not that it's important but i *still* haven't thought of a name... any suggestions? i'm a painter so i can decorate it with whatever kind of insect, animal, design etc...

Hi Kent,
The color reminds me of skin. I'm kind of weird so I'm thinking "Skiney Dipper" or "Skiney Dippin". :R

 Off the top of my head, here are some name ideas:

The color reminds me of the desert.

Kokopelli would work as a name and you could get decals for that or it would be easy to paint on.

Or, you could call it The Desert Flower.

The color is kind of peachy:

The Peach Pit?

Then, there are these names:

Kent’s Kanteen?

The Kentroy (Referring to your modified Benroy)

Skeeter Skooter (Fewer mosquitoes to bother you when you sleep)

Okay, I think I’m out of name ideas for now. You’ll think of something.

Sharon,

I like Kentroy. Good one. 8)

Kent,

You're a painter....bear with me on this one....a George Catlin style, Injun pony....runing wild across the prairie (sides of your trailer).

You could call it "Pinto de Kinto" 8)

{Trailer's looking great, BTW.}

thanks for comments & suggestions :D

...and apopologies for this post... i caught a bug and've been napping/ nodding off all day...

anywayz...

we took it out for the first time thursday. i was ANXIOUS. i hadn't built anything this big before, much less tried to tow it... i'd never towed anything before...

so.....

*deeeep inhale*

here goes nothing...

result = it pulls like buttah! bouncy on neighborhood streets, but smooth as silk up to 55+ mph on more major roads. i wasn't trying to push that too much cuz the tires that came with the trailer are rated at 45 mph. i need to get new ones before spring.

Image

Image

Image

also, it's no lie that these things attract attention... we paused the first 20-30 mins just meeting walk-ups and explaining how it was built.

i kept saying "naw, this is just a test... it's not done yet..." :rainy:

hope all's well with you
