Fenders are on. Debated whether to add any sealant between the fender and the body. Ended up putting some butyl tape in there to act as a bit of a shock absorber and also to keep water from splashing up from underneath.
The outside frame for the galley hatch is put together. Going to let the glue dry overnight, and then we can check for square, adjust if necessary, and add the ribs and spacers.
Why did you choose to laminate the ACM to plywood instead of just using a framework underneath? I'm thinking of building a steel framed camper and using ACM panels. It looks like you left the glue in beads versus spreading it out; can you tell by pushing on the ACM where the beads are?
I just stumbled across this build. I am really enjoying this build a lot. I am also thinking about using the composite for my exterior. Which hurricane hinge did you go with? (offset, etc.) I am wanting to do the same style of hatch and didn't know what hinge to go with so it would work with the door seal in the metal edging.
Came across this build years later, looks fantastic!
Love the idea of both the Aluminum Composite material and the Vinyl wrap for extra security/graphics, super creative! Wondering how this has held up over the years if you're still around on the board!
