Fenders are on. Debated whether to add any sealant between the fender and the body. Ended up putting some butyl tape in there to act as a bit of a shock absorber and also to keep water from splashing up from underneath.Image

The outside frame for the galley hatch is put together. Going to let the glue dry overnight, and then we can check for square, adjust if necessary, and add the ribs and spacers.Image

Galley hatch is all framed up and ready to skin. Going to use acm on the outside. Probably using 1/8" pvc sheeting on the inside to save weight.Image

Very nice build!

Why did you choose to laminate the ACM to plywood instead of just using a framework underneath? I'm thinking of building a steel framed camper and using ACM panels. It looks like you left the glue in beads versus spreading it out; can you tell by pushing on the ACM where the beads are?

I just stumbled across this build. I am really enjoying this build a lot. I am also thinking about using the composite for my exterior. Which hurricane hinge did you go with? (offset, etc.) I am wanting to do the same style of hatch and didn't know what hinge to go with so it would work with the door seal in the metal edging.

Came across this build years later, looks fantastic!

Love the idea of both the Aluminum Composite material and the Vinyl wrap for extra security/graphics, super creative! Wondering how this has held up over the years if you're still around on the board!

Does anyone know anything about the doors used on this build? They look nice and I'm curious about their sizing.
